EXCLUSIVE: X-MEN: THE LAST STAND Deleted Scene - Cyclops Catches A Peeping Wolverine

Conceptual illustrator and storyboard artist, Tim Burgard, has sent over X-Men 3 storyboards that show Wolverine peering in on Scott Summers (James Marsden) getting over one woman by getting under another. Also, an alternate first encounter between Logan and Beast.

Here is an unusual way that they could've increased Cyclops' paltry screentime, while increasing the depth of his character. I think this makes him appear human with human needs. As you saw in the previous films he wasn't given the opportunity to show emotional range. Outside of one instance when he got to play the jealous boyfriend, Scott, spends most of his duty playing a good soldier, with more of a robotic seriousness.

Tim Burgard began his artistic career in the comic book industry as a penciler, inker, and even a writer. Down the road he would lend his substantial talents to the entertainment industry, creating storyboards for popular films and television programs. Recently Tim has worked on films, such as Rupert Wyatt's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Kenneth Branagh's Thor and Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk.

X-Men: The Last Stand was directed by Brett Ratner, from a screenplay written by Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn. The cast included: Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine, Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe / Storm, Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Anna Paquin as Marie / Rogue, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast, James Marsden as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake / Iceman, and Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde. The film earned $459 million at the world wide box office, against a budget of $210 million.

Forget trying to get back Halle Berry, I would love to see Kelsey Grammar back as Beast in DOFP. He was the best part of X3.

Clearly ripped directly from Astonishing X-Men.

This is so X-Men-y. I love it. And who cares if it was stolen from "Astonishing"? That was on of the best iterations of X-Men period. Joss is boss.

crap movie and I still don't like that the film version of Wolverine is 6'2. Completely throws away so much.

Why the hell didn't they use Astonishing X-Men even more its probably the best version of Cyclops I've read, and the team well feels like a [frick]ing team. Hell why didn't they just get Whedon to direct it oh wait this fox they like [frick]ing around with Whedon.

Also that Beast scene would have been a 1000% better then the one we got.

This series do not do Cyclops justice.

Wow. Logan finds Scott sleeping w/ another woman after Jean's death... Logan and Beast getting into a fight for no reason... they REALLY liked pilfering Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run for story beats, didn't they?

This movie was screwed from the moment Matthew Vaughn jumped ship. I would have LOVED to see Singer's take on a third X-Men movie, sure, but Vaughn could have even made Zak Penn's script sing, if he had to. With Vaughn gone and 20th Century Fox desperate, though, it was only a matter of who they would choose to screw it all up-- and in Brett Ratner, they chose the most efficiently awful possibility.

This was better then the entire movie. The X3 could've been chance to turn Cyclops into more independent character, instead of just being Xavier's pet dog.

Isnt that just taken directly from Joss Whedons Astonishing X-Men number 1?

And the woman in the bed is Emma Frost?

@nailbiter- why does there have to be a "correct response" in the first place? So what if they took inspiration directly from Astonishing X-Men? There were a lot of issues and storylines that were definitely not cinematic quality in that line, and would actually bring down the film if translated literally to screen, as well as being nothing more than just ripping off the source material - hello! film is a different medium. Many people don't like some of the animated films for the very reason that they DO rip directly off the comic book source material at times. ...your comment makes no sense.

@Nailbiter - My comment was pretty neutral. Just an observation. I meant it as that. But honestly, to see an awesome scene from a good comic, taken totally out of context, and put into as bad a film as that...I guess I don't like it?? Didn't put as much thought into it as you did, clearly... And it's really the most bizarre comment you've ever seen?.....ever? lol

Nah, terrible scene. COrny, out-of-place, ridiculous. In the comics it might work, in a film no way.

[frick] Wolverine and [frick] Brian Singer, it's like the guys only way of writing nice guy characters is to make them into jealous assholes.

That should've been WB's warning when it came to hiring a director for Superman.

Singer turned Cyclops into a lame character, why would he do Superman, a character similar to Superman, much justice?

So they were taking the scene from Astonishing #1, but instead of Emma Frost.... Scott was just bangin' some random? Thank god that was deleted.
