Five reasons "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will rock

It's a dual sequel and is the biggest X-Men movie to date. Despite knowing very little to nothing about the movie, here is why I think Days of Future Past will be great.

It's an X-Men movie, a duel sequel AND despite what many think, it's an event movie just like Avatar and The Avengers were. Now, how the general audience will respond to it will be a different story considering X-Men's average performance at the boxoffice. I've actually seen every X-Men movie except for Origins and First Class in the theater and in generality, I love the X-Men movie franchise. I for one am super pumped for, Days of Future Past. While of course, I'm hoping that, The Wolverine will pull a "First Class" on us and be the best superhero movie of the year and further replenish the X-Men franchise thanks to the missteps of The Last Stand and Origins. Here are five reasons why I think it will rock and could possibly be, the best X-Men film (notice I didn't say, Wolverine film).

5: Simul-Cam

Avatar is by no means a great movie. It's overhyped, over rated and over long. Style over substance, while it's by no means all that good on the story front of things. But, thanks to Simul-Cam it's very impressive visually and the fact that X-Men: Days of Future Past is using this technology shows that on a visual stand point, it will be the best looking of the X-Men franchise. But, this is one of the smarter moves this franchise has made as well as another move that I will mention later on. I'm sure you can all agree, Simul-Cam was a very smart move. Maybe they can use this so, Colossus looks better.

4: Based on the comic of the same name

Obviously, this won't be a straight up adaptation. But, that doesn't mean the title of the movie and certain things being borrowed from the comic like time travel make it any less exciting. Hell, Wolverine looks to be wearing the same jacket he wears in the comic. Sentinals are presumably in it, Kitty Pryde is assumedly going to be having the same role as she does in the comic. Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. But, still. While it's not going to be straight up an adaptation of the comic, it's obviously going to give nods to it and show the audience they aren't ignoring the source material.

3: It's a dual sequel.

Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, how many sequels can you name that are duel sequels? Exactly. I'm not going to lie, I don't dislike The Last Stand but, I don't like it either. I think it's pretty cool and probably accidental that Days of Future Past is an epilogue to the Dark Phoenix Saga. The movie is taking place after Jean Grey turned into Phoenix and all hell broke loose in The Last Stand. As I said in reason number four, I don't think this will be a direct adaptation as it clearly has been show it won't be. How this all plays out due to not being a direct adaptation definitely intrigues me. I'm obviously not the only one hoping for Cyclops and Jean Grey to return. Now that I think about it, it really will be interesting how this movie affects the fates of Scott and Jean from The Last Stand. Possibly going to reboot in some way? However, I think it will possibly be one of the best comicbook sequels ever made. Don't believe me? I'm sure my next two reasons will help solidify it, unless you don't like the X-Men movies for some odd reason.

2: The monster cast

Okay, maybe "monster cast" wasn't the right description for the cast. But, it's hard not to get excited about the returning cast from the original X-Men trilogy as well as McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Hoult (despite the less than stellar look of Beast in First Class, Hoult did a fantastic job in the role). Don't forget the inclusion of Bishop, Warpath, Blink and god knows who else will be making their debut. It's practically impossible not to get excited for this cast. Okay so, I do have my worries how the story is going to balance the present of both from post Last Stand and Pre X-Men and how it will all play out but, the returning cast members from both X-Men and First Class are all fantastic actors. Well, Paquin, Ashmore and Cudmore were good in their roles but everyone else is fantastic. My most excited returns are Fassbender and yes, Jackman. Those two are the real strong points, character and actor wise of the films.

1: Singer Returns!

Okay, that title is pretty bad lol It wasn't suppose to be a reminder of, Superman Returns. I actually don't think it was a bad movie, it's honestly the first Superman movie I had ever watched. Although, he hasn't really made a good movie since and really should've stuck around for The Last Stand. Matthew Vaughn though, got this franchise back on track and Bryan Singer's best work is The Usual Suspects, X-Men and X2: X-Men United. Yes, he catches a lot of flack for making the first two more Wolverine centric but, X2 is more centric around the team and everything that's going on with Stryker. If he really wasn't for him, we never would've had the X-Men movies or the great cast that came with them. Unlike Brett Ratner who has never made a good movie in his life, let alone a good X-Men movie. Bryan Singer knows what he's doing with the X-Men movies when he's directing. He only produced X3. I don't think he deserves flack for it sucking. Bryan Singer returning is the best thing about this movie cause I know that this project is in good hands and will turn into a good one.

What do you think? You excited about "Days of Future Past"? What are you looking forward to the most? Comment below and be civil.

One reason why all these points are invalid and it will suck: from the director of Superman Returns

Singer already has my money. One doesn't go see X2 FOUR times in the movie theater because they simply thought the movie was cool. It has the X stamp, it has a great cast - I'm sold.

@Levi: Why exactly do you hate Singer? Is it because you like most of the population didn't like, Superman Returns? Cause if that's your only reason then, it's pretty invalid.

@tainted: I was pretty much sold on the movie as soon as Singer was announced to be a director. The only good X-Men movies were when Matthew Vaughn directed and when Bryan Singer directed. X2 is a brilliant comicbook movie that deserves tons of praise.

I'm very excited about DOFP, all footage realesed so far looks good, especially Beast. Singer made two good X-Men movies in the past and Superman Returns...it was okay movie, it just came out 23 years too late. It was made as a semi-sequel to the Donner's films, it would've probably been a very popular if it had come out in 1980's, instead of Superman 3.

So... we're... forgiving Singer for what he did to Superman now? Did i miss that at the last meeting???

Alright, the ONLY thing I am worried about here is how it will affect the original X-Men trilogy and The Wolverine. Remember, it's supposed to be an alternate timeline, so I really really hope this doesn't affect those movies. There really is no need for a reboot.

Check out my article on how they can SIMPLY fix the continuity errors.

Is this an X-Men 4 movie or a Wolverine and friends movie, honestly though, they might aswell rename the film to X-Men 4:Days of future past, since that's what it essentialy is.

Though i'm unhappy about no Vaughn, someone please tell me why the [frick] he isn't doing this film and doing that other film, i'm looking foward to this film, the TV adaptation in the 90's sereis was really good and interesting.

We also better [frick]ing see Nimrod and Bishop wrecking shit.

From the director of Jack And The Giant Stalk.

I just think its too much and too big. I need a trailer before I reach a full verdict.

@Levi: I'm just curious as to why you hate Singer so much. Okay so, he hasn't made a good movie since Superman Returns (I liked it for what it is despite its flaws) but, he's never made a bad X-Men movie.

TheManfromMars: Thanks man, I'll be sure to get right on it.

I'm an X-fan. This is Days of Future Past. Singer has nothing to do with it. They could have Ratner return, and I'd still be showing up super early to grab my tickets and get good seats. It's not like Ratner killed X3 anyway.

one year later..... everyone will think Singer is a God.
I hope xmen 1 and 2 director doesn't disappoint, I really loved his xmen movies at the time, they were my favorites movies as a kid. so I have no reasons to worry too much, of course the industry changed and we now got the dark knight triology, avengers and its cinematic universe but 10 years ago everything was different for cbm. of course he will need to change some things up and adapt to the new era. days of future past could be one f next years biggest movie.

I am more excited for this movie than any other coming up next year. by the time the movie comes I probably wont care too much because of the world cup in brazil so my attentions will be deviated to soccer but here goes my list for 2014 movies.

1. xmen days of past future
2. captain America 2
3. the hobbit 3
4. the amazing spiderman 2
5. instellar/guardians of the galaxy
6. dawn of the planet of the apes

I miss the old xmen movies from singer, at least they were not all comedy like marvel did with iron man 3.

Re-edit your stuff. Lots of typos that make nonsense.

Cautious optimism with Singer. Hopefully, he will follow the outlaw of 'First Class,' rather than the outlay of his movies.

All I want to see is them use this "time travel" story to fix the shitty X-3 movie or just make the timeline so that anything and everything that happened in X-3, will be null, void, and nonexistant. That movie was BIG SUCK and ruined the whole xmen live action franchise for me. Had no desire to watch another X-men movie after that peice of complete crap. Still havent watched 1st class just because X3 was so bad. All they need to do is stop Jean from getting killed at the end of X-2 and the whole X-3 movie goes away, never happened. That would make X-3 a "What if" movie which would make it ok, cause its a what if and not some jack asses idea of a good movie.

Fixed it for you :)

Sure, if you ignore the complete bastardizations of the main characters, the gaping plot holes, and scientific implausibilities lol
