You Remember Generation X & how it defined our youth @ that time. This had some noticeable stars likes Finola Hughes & Matt Frewer and others. Thou it didn't get good reviews I still enjoyed this when I was 17. Of all the networks you guessed it FOX was in charge of this. Being that they had bought the rights for the X-Men in the early 90's after Marvels unforunate bankruptcy.

The plot: Matt Frewer played Dr. Russel Tresh whom thought he could extract parts of mutant brains to develope psychic abilities.

Main Cast:
Suzanne Davis - Buff/Arlee Hicks
Matt Frewer - Russel Tresh
Finola Hughes - Emma Frost/White Queen
Heather McComb - Jubilation Lee/Jubilee
Jeremy Ratchford - Sean Cassidy/Banshee
Bumper Robinson - Mondo
Agustin Rodriguez Angelo - Espinosa/Skin
Amarilis Monet St. - Croix/M
Randall Slavin - Kurt Pastorius/Refrax

A Little Secret:
"The mansion used for the Xavier Institute is Hatley Castle which was also used in the X-Men films X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand, as well as for the home of young Lex Luthor in the Smallville series." Source Wiki!

I loved this comic! It was one of the last mainstream comics I read before switching to indie books. I have the whole run up untill Larry Hama killed it. I was 14 when the movie aired and was damn excited (I still have the VHS copy I recorded) I remember being very dissapointed when Chamber never showed up, but hey, Max Hedrom!

I don't remember seeing this, but I do remember Mutant X, which reminded me a lot of the Generation X comics.

thwhtGuardian, I can't be too sure, but I think this only aired once in the United States.(If that's where you live). It was early 1996.You probably missed it.

I also watched Mutant X.It debuted at the same time as Smallville in 2001.I initially liked Mutant X better because it was closer to a superhero show, with alot more action and superpowers. They were working with a syndicated budget, but they did alright.I have every season on DVD.

Reasons given for not trusting TV with CBMs:

I offer the court EXHIBIT A, your honor.
Or "X" as the case may be.

I watched the movie the night it premiered on FOX. I was extremely disappointed. Where was Chamber? I am still a fan of the comic though. I still have issues #1-35 and all the figures from series 1. It remains my all time favorite X-Men spin-off series.

I still have Generation X on DVD. Crappy movie, but no worse than The Justice League made for tv movie. Oh and Mutant X was cool, but the annoying part was it was like watching Dark Angel.

Spock@ it's amazing! I'll try to explain the plot though only the songs are in English (yeah, it's a musical) two guys decide to dress up as batman and robin and for some reason their bullies dress like the joker and penguin and start comitting crimes (in song) they also get the help of Catwoman. Then at the end everyone dances to a super hero version of let's go to the hop (entitled let's be good not bad) and I do mean everyone, the Hulk, Wonder Woman, a midget Spider-Man. Weird movie

Wasn't that series one of Brian Wood's early gigs? They should let him take a crack at the newer "young class" of x-men. He would have been a great choice to take over for the new x-men after Morrison left. Ah well... hindsight.

(rant alert)
TV can't make good superhero work because the lackeys that write for tv take superhero stories at face value. They really don't get that beyond the capes there are real stories, real ideas and real themes being drawn.

They write crap stories where a bunch of uninteresting people go on generic adventures and use lots of badly executed powers in badly executed costumes. They yell out a few snide unrealistic clips of dialogue for the commercial reel and then they realize how much they like the 'cute girl', despite the way they fight each other.

Never, would they take the time on superhero fare, that they do on lost, rome, sopranos... Smallville is literally the closest thing we've got and hell if it's at those show's level.

Writers/producers see the cape and that's all they see. After that, the pitch meeting might as well be over. It's too bad, cuz there are some great adaptations out there waiting to happen. But quality is harder to come by and harder to Keep on tv than it is in theatres.
