Halle Berry Would Be Up For A STORM Movie If The Opportunity Presented Itself

By 2017, we'll have seen three solo Wolverine films, one Deadpool adventure, and a Gambit feature. Could Storm be the next X-Men hero to hit the big screen? It's too early to say, but if Fox did greenlit a Storm picture, it looks like Halle Berry would be more than happy to return! Come check it out!

Academy Award-winner and X-Men star Halle Berry recently sat down with Deadline to chat about the second season of her CBS show Extant, her upcoming trip to San Diego Comic-Con, and shattering stereotypes in film.

During the extended conversation, it didn't take long before the topic naturally shifted to one of Berry's more popular roles, Storm, a role she recently reprised in 2014's smash hit X-Men: Days Of Future Past. While many viewed that appearance to possibly be the final time we see Berry suit up as Storm, Deadline still managed to ask Berry whether she would ever be interested in starring in a solo Storm film. Her answer:

"In a heartbeat. In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it’s before I’m 65-years old I would absolutely do that."

However, despite her enthusiasm, Berry admits that a potential Storm movie would need some extreme (probably Deadpool-level) fan support before it got off the ground: "Well, I think they should do it. If the fans want that the fans need to speak up and I’m sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie I’m sure they would do it." She is only 48, so a solo picture isn't completely out of the question, but with Alexandra Shipp taking up the Storm mantle in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, Berry would need more than a little outside help for Fox to actively start developing a Storm film.

Looking back at the past fifteen years, Fox has been one of the more cautious studios when greenlighting potential individual hero movies, having only so far given solo movies to Hugh Jackman's immensely popular Wolverine. Additionally, if it weren't for some well-received leaked test footage and some timely star lobbying, we may never have seen the day when an R-rated Deadpool and a solo Gambit feature were both greenlit.

What do you guys think? Would you want to see Berry return for a solo X-Men Origins: Storm adventure? Or would you rather see her star in a true X-Men 4 with the rest of the original cast? Or is time for the talented actress to say goodbye to the role? Sound off with your thoughts below!
