There were rumours not too long ago of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart shooting a scene together for The Wolverine which would lead into X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, whether or not that is indeed the scene is unknown, but Jackman has at least now confirmed that there is in fact an after-credits stinger which sets up Bryan Singer's X-Men: First Class "inbetweequel". "There's a lot of great actors in it, and if you stick around to the end of the credit of The Wolverine, you're going to get a really nice little Easter Egg for what Days of Future Past has to offer...which we can't reveal!" So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book! What would you guys like to see in this scene? Be sure to ound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Int Bar
Logan is sitting at a bar drinking a beer and looking like a bad ass.
The door swings open, a bell gives a light ring signaling the entrance of one Charles Xavier.
Charles sits next to Logan.

Logan: I thought you were dead

Charles: I thought you told me to [frick] off

Logan: Probably.... I do that a lot

Charles: He's back...

Logan: Who ?

Charles: Bryan Singer

Logan: So the band is getting back together ?

Charles: Sort of....

Logan: Cyclops still dead ? Jean ?

Charles: Dead and Dead but Singer has a plan...

Logan: What did you do with young Emma Frost and young Quick Silver after we rescued them off that island ?

Charles: Well Emma went back to the 60s and grew huge breasts... Quick Silver is still a teenager but he is around somewhere.

Logan: Time and continuity are pretty screwed up huh ?

Charles: Don't worry- it's Fox. It will all be figured out

Logan: yeah right

Charles: Logan- I'm here to talk to you about the Mutant Initiative....

Logan: [frick] off

Charles: we have a Puerto Rican stripper you have to meet...careful though- she is a spitter.

End

Wow! An after credit sequence just like a Marvel Studios film.

Could be worse I suppose. They could be using the same characters!!

The Wolverine is going to be the best cbm of the year. Bring on the after credits scene

The iron man 3 after credit scene was such a let down. Worst after credit scene of the MCU.

I love after credit scenes in comic book films. Oddly enough, it's more of a past-time to me than Baseball is to America. I get so giddy sitting through the credits in anticipation for a 30 second clip.

Anyways, hope Thor 2 has one as well!

"So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book!"

Uhhhh..... You do acknowledge Fox was the first to put a post-credits scene after a comic book movie right? First it was Daredevil, then X3: The Last Stand. Well, technically, the first CBM was Phantom Menace with the whole Darth Vader breathing and shit but you know.

didich - 7/17/2013, 5:00 AM
Fox was the first to do the post-credits scene in a CBM though Marvel Studios popularized and was the first to sue it as a 'world-building device', in the sense that most PCS either showed something extra, something irrelevant or a hook for direct sequel (Marvel, on the other side, used them to show other aspects of their cinematic universe, like with Iron Man 2 and Thor's Hammer), which is what Fox is doing doing here (considering The Wolverine was originally planned as a stand-alone or spin-off and has little to no relation to the First Class series).

I don't get why Fox get's so much crap and Marvel always get a pass when it come to continuity.

And I'm not comparing the actual movies (I love pretty much all the Marvel movies), just the continuity.

For me, Marvel's issues are much worse considering they actually planned out their movie universe ahead of time.

I loved all their post-credit scenes but if you go back and watch them now after Avengers, most of them make no sense. Plus they had to recast 2 major character's early on an there's just a ton of other stuff.

I actually think Fox may be getting their shit together. I think that this shows the studios performances in the last year or so.

Marvel Studios = Staying Same (Iron Man 3 was alright but post credits scene was shit.)
Fox = Rising ( Wolverine looks good and now that the X Force and DOFP is coming seems good)
Sony= Staying Same ( They have a DECENT spidey franchise now)
WB/DC = Dropping ( Man of Steel was very very good but it really hurts their rep that they arent announcing other films for their DCCU.)

People act like the post credit scene is something new. I would direct your attention to a movie called Planes, Trains and Automobiles released in 1987 which did that as well. And that wasn't the first movie to do it either.
