Is An X-MEN Spin-Off Starring QUICKSILVER On The Way?

Much to the surprise of pretty much everyone, Quicksilver ended up stealing the show in X-Men: Days of Future Past earllier this year. The scene in which he speeds into action has been unanimously praised, with some fans wondering how Joss Whedon will top it when we see a different version of the character in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. When Newsarama recently caught up with second unit director Brian Smrz, he revealed that he was the one who actually pit the majority of the sequence together in the "inbetweenquel". "Probably the most memorable part of the film was getting the chance to work closely with almost all of the main cast in various scenes. As far as a particular scene that sticks out the most, I’d say the kitchen sequence with Quicksilver. I ended up doing a lot of that," he revealed before adding, "I did most of it, to be honest. I have a great relationship with Bryan Singer, and he really let me do a lot there. The scenes where they enter, as well as parts where they’re frozen – I did most of it. It’s very time consuming, especially with the phantom camera and the rain. Bryan was there and did some of the key parts, but I did the rest." Smrz will also return for X-Men: Apocalypse.

When asked what we should expect from the sequel, he refused to give too many details away, but did reveal that, "Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to; that’ll be fun." Talking of Quicksilver, the second unit director was then asked by the site whether he would be interested in directing his own movies and if there are any in the pipeline. "We talked about Quicksilver before, I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character. But I’m not geared just towards superhero movies; for me it’s about great main characters, and finding movies that have that." It's understandable that Fox would at least consider a spin-off featuring the character, but it doesn't sound like a sure thing as of right now. You have to imagine that Marve won't be best pleased anyway! Would  you watch it?
