James McAvoy Says He'd Love To Return For More X-MEN Movies As Long As It's A "Really Good Part"
Though some of his cast-mates sound a bit unsure about returning for more X-Men movies, James McAvoy gives a much more positive update during a recent interview with Fandango. Click on to check it out...
Though Josh Boone's New Mutants is on the horizon, we're still not certain about the future of 20th Century Fox's main X-Men franchise after the relatively disappointing performance of Bryan Singer's Apocalypse. A recent report indicated that the studio might be planning some kind of soft reboot while utilizing the same cast - however, both Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence seemed very uncertain about reprising their roles when quizzed about it in separate interviews.
Fortunately, James McAvoy has a much more positive update for fans - though his return does seem dependent on how strong the part they write for him turns out to be.
"If they offer me a really good part, I’ll be in. If it’s not a really good part, I’ll be like ‘Eh, I’ll think about it.’ But I’ve always loved playing Charles and I’ve always had pretty interesting things to do as Charles, so if that continues, then yeah, of course I’d love to take part."
Charles Xavier is expected to show up in New Mutants, so that could be why McAvoy seems a bit more sure of his continuing involvement with the franchise than Fassbender and Lawrence do.
Would you like to see McAvoy and co. return for more X-Men movies? Or would you be happy to see the younger team take over?
