In a recent interview with
Total Film, the actress talked more about her role in
X-Men: First Class, describing the different version of the character we'll see in the movie:
"The Mystique we know from the original X-Men is a confident, strong, powerful woman. But in this film she’s a kind of insecure girl, who’s discovering herself, her sexuality and her opinion of things."
"It starts as a little crush on Magneto," she said when quizzed about how Mystique eventually comes around to the classic villains way of thinking,
"but then I start to like his view of the world."
And in news which will please many comic book fans, Lawrence confessed that she's been doing plenty of research into the characters comic book origin,
"I'm still reading it..." And if that wasn't enough, she's also been closely studying the performance of Rebecca Romijn from the last three films,
"She has a very specific walk!"
Learning that her stunt double would be handling most of the action sequences after weeks of intense training also left the Oscar Nominated actress with mixed feelings:
I was like, ‘Grrr!’ But I guess it meant less time wearing the make-up, so I wasn’t too disappointed."
X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, later this year!
