Magneto's costume design for any of the x-men films have always been a failure to me.

With the exception of the helmet, the current installment is no different. The Helmet looks awesome. The rest of it is burnable.

Why they put this character in a "door man suit" is beyond me.

I don't get what's so bad about Magneto's costume in the first three films. It looked better than this IMO.

While I like the helmet: the suit looks dull. Also: his posture is just......just NO! Ya know?

ask and ye shall receive.

you gotta remember, a lot of people on this site are not hardcore comic fans.

If they are going for Morrison's rendition ... at least try to come close.

I've been reading these comics for decades (on decades)and Magneto is my "go to" villain for the MCU, but to tell you the truth when ever I've seen him on the big screen - Morrison's vision doesn't come to mind. At all.

I think the suit has a very 60's feel to it.

iit looks like the costume from the first x-men comic. saw the movie last night like it but it hade to many continuity errors from the first movies

At first I wasn't a fan. Looked like it was taken from a screen test. Now I've warmed up to it. They just have to make it the top tighter. Let Fassbender show off some mutant muscle. Still the best CBM of this summer though.

Awesome. I love the costume and helmet. Very authentic feel to the classic comics. Honesrly, i dont know why everyone is complain ing. They made his costume look cheesy and dull because thats his first real costume HE made. No super hero comes up with a pro ass costume their first time.

Spiderman - wrestling costume

Batman- robber mask and black clothes

Iron man: MK1

Captain America: Uso suit.

The costume is complete rubbish! How can any1 defend it. Yes the movie was awesome, but what the hell is that he's got on? I think a costume like what Corndog posted is even better. I do forgive it because it's only onscreen for that little time, why commit resources to a costume for very little screen time. If (when) there's a sequel, I bet he won't be wearing that.

@indoraptor...I thought I was the only one who didn't have a problem with McKellen's costume!!!

from the back of the costume, it looked great! then..when the camera finally turned to him facing front, it looked lame :(

the costume looks pathetic they could've at least given him a good looking trench coat!
and why is his shoulders down like a really weak person?

@ molee

yeah, a trench coat...because that isn't overdone at all...

Great! The costume is even shittier in high definition. Here's hoping for an improved suit in the sequel, but it's pretty obvious that he's going to have a better one. His posture is odd, as well. He should be standing confidently with his arms crossed and his shoulders out.

Yeah, once again, AWESOME HELMET, but terrible suit.

Thanks for the hq screencaps WhiplashDynamo!

Look I think we all agree the helmet is AMAZING! Let us judge the rest of the costume when it features in the sequel ok? Cos they may not have wanted to concentrate much on it since it's only making a teeny-tiny appearance in the film...
@LizardKing71 Yes it does look like that but just see the fit on that one & then see this! RedSon is right! It DOES look like a "doorman suit"
