Fox's planned New Mutants film is still in development, but X-Men: Apocalypse actress Alexandra Shipp has now expressed interest in reprising her role as Storm in the film, should she be asked by the studio. In an interview with IGN, the actress said, “I can't say very much about New Mutants, but it would be awesome to do a little cameo, a little Where's Waldo?, Where's Ororo? in the background,” Shipp said. “I love Storm as a character. I'd love to reprise her in many different movies and be able to show people different sides of her because she is so multidimensional and I think that the people who love Storm at least as much as I do, really want to see that. We want to see Storm killin' it and kickin' ass. That's the best thing about her, how amazing and powerful she is.”

Of course, this isn't a confirmation of Shipp appearing in the film, but it would be great to see more of the character. Currently, it's not clear what decade New Mutants would be set in, though Simon Kinberg has confirmed that Charles Xavier is present in the current draft of the script. The spin-off film is set to be directed by Josh Boone, and will feature lesser-known mutants such as Wolfsbane (rumoured to be played by Maisie Williams) and Magik (rumoured to be played by Anya Taylor-Joy). Shipp will be making her first appearance as Storm when X-Men: Apocalypse releases next week.
