Maybe people really loved Taylor Joy in Queen’s Gambit and wanted to see her in another project?
Kumkani - 11/26/2020, 2:09 AM
@tmp3 - I might actually watch it just for her. She was damn good in The Queen's Gambit.
tmp3 - 11/26/2020, 2:25 AM
@Kumkani - Yeah, I’ve loved her in everything since the VVitch. Hyped to see her as Furiosa
Superheromoviefan - 11/26/2020, 1:51 AM
i actually liked the movie. i dont know why people hate it
thewanderer - 11/26/2020, 8:24 AM
@Superheromoviefan - agreed. It wasn’t great, but it didn’t suck either. I’m surprised they delayed it so long. Well worth the $9 or so I paid for it.

When I look at the rest of the list, I find it not surprising at all. Thought Love & Monsters would've been higher though.

Even Jiu Jitsu is doing okay I guess, but the real surpise here is Elf. It's not even december yet and people are watching Christmas movies already?
Twenty23Three - 11/26/2020, 2:20 AM
I wonder, and this is totally out of no where I’m pulling this, if people who don’t keep tabs on these things saw the title and thought it was Marvel studios introduction of mutants. At least someone probably did right?
SnideCut - 11/26/2020, 3:16 AM
Man, out of all of these I feel like Love and Monsters deserved a theatrical release. That movie was kickass and heartwarming.

The New Mutants is dope. Josh Boone did a great job with it.
WEAPONXOXOXO - 11/26/2020, 4:31 AM
i grew up reading the new mutants and i was reading the x-men since 1983.
the movie was entertaining. it was short and it left me wanting more. the movie was a let down but i don't think it bad just not good enough. there was some good character development and Anya Taylor-Joy is gonna be a huge star.
this actress has so much talent. i recommend watching The Queen's Gambit on netflix.

Looking at the titles that make up the rest of those lists, it doesn’t seem to be that much of an accomplishment.

It's really not as bad as some people have made it out to be. It's just a low-effort CBM in the style of the early 2000's. Not good, not bad, just "there." We've gone a whole year without a superhero movie, so it really shouldn't be surprising that people are watching the first chance they get.
NinnesMBC - 11/26/2020, 7:09 AM
I still have to see it, but at least something good came out so it's nice for the cast.
FlammableSolid - 11/26/2020, 8:39 AM
I enjoyed the movie. Watched it not expecting much but loved Magik and would love to see more of that character get some more screen time.
Pigdango - 11/26/2020, 11:04 AM
Glad to see it could beat a 17 year old movie.

This is meaningless news without a dollar figure attached to it. I’m sure there was a week when Fant4stic was #1 in VOD as well.
