X-MEN: THE NEW MUTANTS Character Breakdowns Confirm Chris Claremont's Original Team Members

Though we did already have a pretty good idea of which characters director Josh Boone was planning on utilizing for his New Mutants movie, these breakdowns would seem to confirm it once and for all.

Following their character breakdowns for Marvel's The Inhumans TV series last week, That Hashtag Show has now provided us with descriptions for the young children of the atom that'll be introduced in Josh Boone's X-Men: The New Mutants.

As is always the case, the characters have been given fake names to hide their real identities, but even without the presenters' help it's not difficult to figure out who's who from the descriptions. As expected, the team will consist of: Cannonball, Magik, Sunspot, Wolfsbane and Mirage. The likes of Cypher, Magma and Warlock aren't mentioned, but they may also appear in some capacity.

If you're wondering why Dani Moonstar doesn't get a breakdown, it's because she's apparently already been cast. Nat Wolff, Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams are reportedly the front runners to play Sam Guthrie, Illyana Rasputin and Rahne Sinclair respectively, but they're obviously not a lock if these breakdowns are still doing the rounds.

Josh Boone's X-Men: The New Mutants will be based on The Demon Bear Saga, and is expected to commence production later this year.
