Who's wolverine? I thought kitty pride went back in time? Or was it bishop? Xavier walks around?

See.. I can do that too. And It's not funny when I do it either...

This movie is going to kill. They are going to advertise the shit out of this, like avengers... Especially with all the oscar noms/winners in the cast. That is one things the avengers doesn't have on this cast... Academy Award winning actors. Not that it needs them...

Can't wait! Movie looks awesome.

Still don't like Jen Lawrence as Mystique. She's a great Raven, but bad Mystique.

This is better...

Than this...

Looks like when Wolverine wakes up in the past he's in the middle of a stand off. And going by the trailer it looks like he offs everyone in the room. Love it :)

With a budget of 225million it has to double that at the box office to earn its money back,so I think if DOFP earns 500 million they would be happy,Looking forward to this film.I just hope it is as good as X-Men First Class.
m0th3r
m0th3r - 2/12/2014, 9:26 AM
500 million is 100m MORE then Wolverine......and 225 == 550 for even break. Also consider all the money invested and potential return on that investment if it was invested in other projects instead of one that costs 200m and breaks even. Its about percentages of profit on investment and this film will be seriously challenged to do that..

Singer deserves to be a smear under the Dragon Zord's foot. Shit movie.

I thought that a film had to earn double its budget to earn its money back, since cinemas take just under a third of the revenue from a film generated at the cinema, that's what the guys at AMC say and they work for cinemas?
m0th3r
m0th3r - 2/12/2014, 9:29 AM
Outside of the money discussion...which is a real issue..

Where is the trailer?!? We have 2.5 Months till this hits...am i the only one that thinks they are hiding footage? The reason wolverine made less then all the other big CBMs last year wasnt quality(we can debate the 2nd half..)..it was the lack of marketing until the last minute...
m0th3r
m0th3r - 2/12/2014, 9:32 AM
Totall..thats the equation i understand... x2 TOTAL costs...thats production + marketing...

SO Fox claims 225 (its probably 250-260...they alway lie some)...that means 500 to break even on production costs alone..not marketing...They are running a pretty ineffective marketing campaign, but its expensive (20+ covers).

Wolverine did 414m. I personally dont think you will have a bigger audience the the last one. There is NOTHING to indicate the Domestic return will be good since it has been pretty bad in recent years. Wolverine did 100m vs 200+ done by Xmen 15+ years ago domestically.

Bottom line..this movie will lose money...this is why Fox has NOT signed Singer for next part yet....

Yeah ad long as its an esemble piece im in ..jackman can have his solo moment at the tonys..great fights with some of the greatest actors alive..patrick stewart has been a godsend je understands his role and never mails in the performance hell both magnetos have acting chops ditto page and berry so u now they can carry the script.

@m0ther

I would argue that The Wolverine didn't make alot of money because of the stigma of the last Wolverine solo film. We all know how bad Origins was. I know even some users on here skipped it purely because of Origins.

"A time-skipping tale that brings together the cast from X-Men and its sequels and prequel"

That's funny! It's like they really want you to forget about X-Men Origins Wolverine!
m0th3r
m0th3r - 2/12/2014, 9:46 AM
@Merc Maybe, Origins was pretty bad...but look at those domestic numbers on Box Office Mojo..they Rose to X3...then have consistently fallen since. we will know by weekend two...If the movie doesn't open ~100m it totally toast...Wolverine did 53...IM 3 did 175, Thor2 did 85 MoS did 116m....Thats a Monster Delta..

Never got an answer the other day from anyone...as a Fan..if this doesn't turn a profit what would you want to happen? Reboot at Fox? They wont do another at ALL if it doesnt turn any profit at all..

Not sure what should happen if it doesn't run a profit. I would like to see it revert and have MS lease it to Sony for a specific number of films or years. With what Sony has done with Spidey, I trust them with the X-Men. I need DOFP to make at least $600 million though. Otherwise I have to rock a Superman avi for 2 months!

What's up @Clem!!

RRA

MercwithMouth - Shockingly, most folks don't want to pay to see a sequel to a movie they didn't like.

Still TW got decent reviews (and Oscar-worthy reviews at least compared to the hate that W:XMO got), an A- Cinemascore, and helped restore luster to the X-Men series like FIRST CLASS did.

NorseGod - Everybody wants to forget W:XMO. Do you blame us? Uggh.

MercwithMouth - yes I trust the studio who gave us SPIDER-MAN 3. *sarcasm*
