The folks over at the Architectural Digest, recently offered a behind-the-scenes look at Fox & Matthew Vaughn's prequel X-Men: First Class with images essentially focused on the various sets, and their '60s style. Offering captions, as well a somewhat new look at January Jones' "Emma Frost" & Kevin Bacon's "Sebastian Shaw", check out the stills below.

"Englefield House, an Elizabethan manor in Berkshire, England, doubles as the X-Mansion—the home of Charles Xavier and his nascent training center for mutant youths."

"Seagers oversaw the creation of a Soviet general’s boudoir at England’s Pinewood Studios"

"A composite set of several rooms was built to serve as the mod submarine of playboy villain Sebastian Shaw, played by Kevin Bacon"

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and January Jones, the film releases June 3!

@Grif: Yeah I know what you mean. But I do think this is going to be great because of the director and the cast. Everything so far looked good, and like I said yesterday, if it's a success it will help them launch a new trilogy with more characters and stuff like that. Let's hope for the best.

@DCMarvelFreshman From the looks of that "PAD" I'd say He is on one of those submarines bro.. Does look customized though huh? Maybe He his his own quarters in one.

Either way, I think this film will be very successful..

They should release the top image as a poster. It has almost all the makings for an X-Men: First Class poster. Mutants standing around, large military equipment. The only thing they need to do is tilt the image to the left a little and slap a big X somewhere in the middle.

wow...so utterly disappointing this is turning out to be...
why do to all this work to make the film LOOK like the 60's and then shove a CRAP non-60's song into it???

Same reason Havok is being shown in the the "first class" when Cyclops is not, HelaGood. They just don't care about continuity anymore. The only thing driving this movie is the almight dollar from ticket sales and merchandise.

One song isn't going to destroy this movie. I have a feeling it's going to be the best CBM this summer in terms of story, heart, action, and character-depth.

why the hell is this movie so submarine centric, yes the characters are destroying submarines and living in submarines and i bet one of the characters will evolve into a submarine ooo a twist

@ ComicsCommando- How much character depth can there be when the guy playing Alex Summers says "his superhero name I guess is Havok?"

I don't know, it could be a good movie, Marvel and Fox know no matter what they throw on the screen I'll fork over the money simply because it is the X-Men. My finally judgement comes after the movie. The trailers show signs of hope for what could be a pretty stellar movie if they pull it off right.

hela- u mad cause this film is set in the 60's and dnt got a 60's music!? thats just being stupid cause you don't know if it has other music there that are from the 60's. only cause the theme song for this is modern don't mean all the other songs are going to be to. so you reason for hating on it now is just stupid.

marvel72, there again it lacks consistency. In the first X-Men movie they used two different locations, Casa Loma and Parkwood Estate, both in Canada. In 2 and 3 it was Hatley Castle in Canada. The least they could have done was find another location in Canada!
Blackmatter

So we're watching them watch TV?
What the hell are they doin?
plasticman
plasticman - 5/12/2011, 5:08 PM
That's not a flat screen tv. Its a box-like doo-hickey to put the cosmic cube that is on the coffee table in. Hey! Maybe there will be some consistency at least with Thor and Capt America!
