New X-Men Sequels In Active Development At Fox; Deadpool A Complete Reboot!

According to Obsessed With Films, who recently revealed images from Twentieth Century Fox's X-Men: First Class prequel, inside the latest issue of Empire Magazine reveals that actual sequels are in the works. Quoted from producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who also speaks on the long-productive Deadpool adaption, she says verbatim:

“We took the treatment to Fox and they love it… And X4 leads into X5.″ Regarding Deadpool,“It’s a total reboot… We’re either going to pretend that didn’t happen or mock it, which he could. It’s insane, it’s definitely comedy, but it’s an R script, it’s really irreverent and violent. Right away, we’re out of the X-Men world”.

While theres no mention on how these tentative X-Men sequels will affect Fox's The Wolverine adaption, or the supposed X-Men: First Class, prequel trilogy, what do you think? With Marvel Studios adapting The Avengers, it'd be great to see the original mutants & their actors on the big-screen again!

X4 AND X5?! lame. Just leave X3 where it was and find something else to work on other than Xmen.

ok the fact that they are keeping the script R and could potentially mock what they did in origins is pretty amazing to me!!! although i will believe it when i see it.

They could just start off with Deadpool killing off the joke of a Deadpool from Wolverine, and explain that he was just a clone, simple as that.

But:
I want to see how the new Xavier finds Fenix's conscience and put it on a cloned Fenix's body and, then, Fenix finding Cyclop's conscience -oh..., lovers... xD- and put it on a cloned Cyclop's body.
That (or something similar). :D

I’m a glass half full guy for this one. Ok yes Deadpool in origins was a tragedy....BUT....this opens up for the possibility for some comedy in the reboot. I like it, I think this has promise!

x-men 4 & x-men 5,so they've gonna sort out all the f*ck ups from x-men 3.

as for deadpool,if they keep with the r-rated script this has massive potential but we're talking about fox.

I was thinking that Seann William Scott (Stifler) would make a great Deadpool. I mean, Ryan Reynolds already has Green Lantern and if it's a complete reboot then why not spread the wealth. He was pretty good in Bulletproof Monk. He's a master of irreverence. What say you?

Fox has made a massive mess out of X-Men. It's all over the place story-wise and actors etc...just so bored of it now. I wish that one day soon Fox will find it in their hearts to sell the rights back to Marvel/Disney and we get mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Dream.

Interesting. If they can undo some of the travesties of X3 I would be happy. Things to do:

- Bring back Cyclops (!!!); we never actually saw him die; Cyclops is more integral to the X-men than Wolvie.
- No Halle Berry as Storm; we don't any screentime demanding miscastee.
- Another villain: Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Proteus; I am a huge Magneto fan but these new movies need a new villain.
- Longer movies: 105 to 120 minutes.

Other things as I think of them.

The fact that Deadpool could be an R rated movie makes so much sense. If FOX goes through with this decision, it would be quite an improvement over how they usually treat the Marvel characters they own.

x-men 4 needs cable & bishop to sort out the time line continuity f*ck ups.

also feature any of the x-men classic foes apocalyspe,mr sinister or the sentinels.
