POLL: Which X-Men Character Has Been Represented Best Onscreen?

We have seen some great actors give life to our favorite X-Men characters over the course of 5 movies from Fox, and some not so great. But who stands out to you as delivering the best interpretation of the character they played?

We all want to see our favorite comic characters done justice to. And imo more often than not they are, even if the movie around them isn't up to scratch. The X-Men have long been considered the most popular team in Marvel history and I think a lot of fine actors have done great jobs in bringing them to the screen. That's not to say there haven't been a few duds too of course. But who stands out in your mind as being the best?

There are a few factors you might consider when deciding. Obviously the actors overall performance is important but was the character represented as well as it could be when taking the comics into account? Some leeway is always needed when adapting anything for the screen but who maintained the essence of the original character best to you?

Now obviously I haven't covered EVERY character that has appeared in these movies. For example I don't think anyone would argue that the likes of Brian Cox as William Stryker was a good interpretation of that character, or others that barely say a single word like Riptide, Lady Deathstrike or Colossus etc. Still I may have missed out on someone so be sure to let me know in the comments section.

Interpretation isn't just physical. I thought Jackman made a great movie Wolverine, but yeah no arguing with Stewart. My vote went to Fassbender though.

Patrick Stewart as Prof. X.
Hugh Jackman has always been too tall and lanky to be a proper Wolvie. He's got the rage part down though but that's about it.

Stewart as Prof X is by far the best!

I knew Jackman as Wolverine would be in the lead because people would pick him for being bad-ass.
Fact is though, he's a tame, tame Wolverine.
Nowhere near the conflicted animal that's in the animations and comics.

too many. other than his accent, Prof X nailed it. Nightcrawler was pretty close too. cyclops wasn't almost there, he just needed a little bit more Team Leader Douche-Baggery. Kelsey Grammar was pretty close as adult Beast as well.

People were advocating for Stewart as Xavier ever since Star Trek TNG debuted, since Stewart is the spitting image of that character. The role wasn't that difficult for him. Just show up, sit in a chair, and drop wisdom. Yeah, I'd put him first. But Cummings' Nightcrawler was amazing. In terms of the interpretation of the character, I'd vote for Cummings.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is a typical Hollywood maneuver. It's disappointing. And the disrespect to Cyclops was awful. James Marsden isn't even a bad actor; the part they gave to the character was just complete crap. What the hell happened to my Dark Phoenix saga in X-Men 3?

The obvious one is Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler. After him on this list I would Say Hugh Jackman but over all I fee ^^^^ Liev Schreiber was a nigh Perfect Sabretooth. Would love to see him do more as Victor Creed!

Jackman is entertaining, but not "source", which is what I believe we're voting on. And to add to my Nightcrawler comment, while he DID nail the soft sweet side of Kurt, he could have been a little more Swash-buckly.

That is an easy question.

Xavier and Magneto have been represented the best on screen so far.

Both versions of them managed to capture their strengths and weaknesses.
