Sir Ian McKellen Hasn't Officially Signed Up For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Either

Did Bryan Singer jump the gun with his announcement that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen would be reprising the roles of 'Professor X' and 'Magneto' in X-Men: Days of Future Past? Just days after Stewart revealed he has yet to sign up, The Hobbit star says the same. Check it out!

"I have to say I haven't signed a contract, nor have I read a script," Sir Ian McKellen told MTV News about his commitment to Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past while promoting the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. "But when Bryan Singer calls, on the whole, I follow." So, we can definitely expect to see him back, regardless of whether or not he's signed up as of right now. However, he went on to reveal that he's most looking forward to the possibility of teaming up with Michael Fassbender's younger 'Magneto'! "Wouldn't that be fun. I'd hope he'd enjoy it as much as I would. I don't know how it's going to work. I suspect it's a flashback. The comics do go to and fro in time." Despite the fact that he has yet to see the screenplay, the actor added that he doesn't think it will necessary follow the comic book storyline that it is named after. "I don't think it'll be quite as simple as that."

McKellen is signing up in all probability. He and Singer have a long working relationship that started before Singer even presented Xmen to McKellen.

Stewart WILL NOT promote a movie with his name until everything is clear and signed.

McKellen and Singer are good friends.

There's going to be some pissed off peeps when Singer strays far, far away from the comic story. I'm calling it now that Mystique will replace Kitty Pride. Kitty won't even be in it.

The only thing they better not stray from in sentinles. I want to see all kinds too. Big ones, little ones, new ones, old ones, nimrods, and the whole sha-bang. Everything else is fair game as long as its good.

@nowtheresaBATman: I hear you, girlfriend!!!

Singer is crap... Mckellen was NOT a good Magneto. He made it a joke and not menacing. First Class brought us a much better Magneto... and da helmet!
