"The Man" Becky Lynch Channelled Morrison-Era Jean Grey At WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER Last Night
During last night's Elimination Chamber PPV, Becky Lynch made a surprise appearance to take down her possible WrestleMania opponents and was decked out in what seemed to be some comic book-inspired gear.
As you'll already know if you visit our sister site TheRingReport.com, the current plan is for RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey to defend the title against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. Becky Lynch was originally scheduled to face the Baddest Woman on the Planet but she was suspended by Vince McMahon, and now fans are wondering how "The Man" will be added to the bout.
Well, during last night's Elimination Chamber PPV, Lynch took out both Flair and Rousey with a crutch before being dragged out of the building by security with a very satisfied looking smirk on her face.
What has comic book fans talking today, though, is the fact that Becky was wearing ring gear which definitely appears to have been inspired by the version of Jean Grey from the Grant Morrison/Frank Quitely New X-Men series.
Ronda Rousey, meanwhile, wore a costume inspired by the character she voices in Mortal Kombat 11: Sonya Blade.
Between the gear she was wearing and her trademark red hair, "The Man" definitely gave off a Jean Grey vibe, and it's no surprise as many wrestlers are known to be big comic book fans (there's a huge crossover between each of the fandoms as well). With any luck, we'll see Becky in a similarly awesome get up at Wrestlemania this April.
