So I am guessing this more or less confirms what we've known for along time that Wolverine does indeed travel back in time.

Wolverine travels back in time and trades places with his '70s self. Hilarity ensues.

I bet they'll try to erase x-men origins wolverine by doing that. Around that time is when Wolverine is at that stryker island escaping if I'm not wrong.

Yeah, the more pics I see of this the more confused I get. Singer is changing things up to the way HE wants it to be. Center it around the character who will sell the most tickets (Wolverine) and hopefully you will get more work after this is over. Might be a smart move, but true fans of the comic might not buy into it. As much as I love Wolverine, I'd rather see the movie stay true to the comic...then again this is FOX we're talking about.

Stan Lee should be a Sentinel in this movie and step on Magneto...forcing FOX to use more X-Men villains!

While it seems likely that Wolverine does travel in time, does no one remember that Wolverine does not age?

This could very well just be the Wolverine IN the 70s you know. Since there would be no difference in his look.

Actually, chances are this isn't time travel and just him in the 70s considering the clothes he's wearing.

Wolverine in the past might actually means he wears some kind of colorful suit, suits the time. Would be awesome one single scene with the yellow or brown costume.

Singer centering about Wolverine is NO DIFFERENT than Marvel Studios centering EVERYTHING around RDJ. Especially Avengers but not just that.

In fact, I think its more insulting to the other actors in the MCU how much they do for RDJ alone.
thewonderer
thewonderer - 6/19/2013, 11:59 AM
And I dream of the day where people who sign up as users on a comic book movie website look forward to comic book movies instead of cherry picking and insulting the ones you don't like.

@thewonderer - RDJ got the whole thing rolling for Marvel. Wait until Thor and Captain America get their sequels and you'll stop belly-aching about it.

Considering how Wolverine snapped at the Prof and Magneto, I'd be very surprised if this was the Wolverine from the 70s. Meh, forgive and forget?

"RDJ got the whole thing rolling for Marvel"

Oh for the love of god NO. JON FAVREAU, KEVIN FEIGE, these men got the whole thing rolling for Marvel. They are the true talent behind the scenes. RDJ was lost, a dead actor before Iron Man saved his career. He used Iron Man to get back into acting and now has propelled himself to such a height of control, its insane.

He is sucking the life out of Marvel Studios. He has everyone convinced that there is no MCU without him.

What a freaking joke. Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth ARE all better actors than him and embody their characters way better imo.

those complaining about wolverine not having the costume, I have one thing to say. It wouldn't work. Yeah I said it. The costume in my eyes would not work well in the transition to film. It just looks too silly. Not saying the leather is better, but hey, opinions is opinions

MartinMarvel,

I'm looking forward and being optimistic about every damn CBM coming out. From Guardians of the Galaxy to Kick Ass 2 to Captain America 2 to Sin City 2.

Because honestly, I don't think theres one CBM coming out that doesn't have immense talent working on it. They all got good casts and directors. There are mishaps, but for the most part, its all good.

I want to come on to these articles and see people wishing the best for every CBM. Hoping for the best. Not going [frick] Singer, [frick] Fox-Men, [frick] Baleman. I'm [frick]ing tired of all this comic book movie insulting on a comic book movie website.

And MartinMarvel, the Avengers was most certainly centered around RDJ. Get your act together:

- Practically EVERY Poster has RDJ in front and center, while Chris Evans, the leader, is in the background

- RDJ is the only one with a love interest appearance in Avengers. For no reason btw.

- RDJ declares to Loki "we will avenge the earth". I'm sorry, isn't Cap the leader? He should be standing tall against the god Loki. Not spoiled and selfish RDJ.

- RDJ makes the heroic sacrifice at the end that saves the entire day.

- Entire second act of the film is someone saying something and RDJ joking about it.

- RDJ is the one who explains to the audience the realization of what Coulsons "death" means. Cap is there too. He should say it because Coulson actually adored Cap.

- Almost all the lines people quote in Avengers WAS SAID BY RDJ. "We have a Hulk", "That mans playing Galaga" "Billionaire, playboy, etc."

- It ends on RDJ with Pepper in his tower. His tower has the A so apparently he headquarters the Avengers name now.

- RDJ remark that is responsible for the after credits scene

@hellsing.. I'm with thewonderer. This is the 70's wolverine. I've posted this in other threads but from what I've seen so far and read (including some assumtions):

Bishop and kitty travel back in time from the present sentinel world (future in comics) and gets help from 70's wolverine first, then the rest of the first class movie cast to help stop the assassination attempt on Nixon, or some other important politician. Then the govt hires trask to make the sentinels, just like last scene in the comic.

I'm really hoping wolverine gets melted by the sentinels like in the comics and everyone dies until kitty bishop and the others in the 70's stop the assassination.

And let me get one final thing straight.

I love the MCU and what it has managed to accomplish. I don't add to the praise because most people on this website shout it in droves.

Essentially, I'm defending the underdog CBMs BY attacking the MCU. Just as you LOVE the MCU and get mad when someone insults it, I get mad when someone insults what I love.

The day EVERYONE stops insulting "Fox-Men", "Sony Man", "Fantastic Fox", etc. is the day I stop criticizing the MCU.

@thewonderer - Yes those guys did their job and wrote and directed great stuff, but you couldn't have just put some nobody out there and gotten the movies to be as great as they were. Give RDJ some credit on the fact that he makes a great Tony Stark! Stan "The Man" Lee (you know, the CREATOR of Iron Man) has even said RDJ is PERFECT for the role. So, with that said, perhaps you should blame Stan Lee as well. You need to get off your hate machine and come back to Earth.

As I said before...which you obviously didn't read, Captain America 2 and Thor 2 will be great for those other actors. Hold on to your panties until then.

Actually you could have put a nobody in there and made it great. Actually, made it better. Because a nobody fantastic actor would have nailed Tony Stark AND NOT be so controlling and over his head.

Look at Chris Pratt in Guardians of Galaxy. Took me awhile but I understand the brilliance of the casting choice now.

Stan Lee is a great man, but he has contradicted himself so many times over the years. Also, considering Marvel Studios is his primary support now, why would he insult it?

Wolverine always dresses likes it's the '70s. Maybe he travelled back in time just to go clothes shopping.

The last act of Origins takes place March 28, 1979. (The Three Mile Island incident did really occur. One of the very few things I like about that movie.) So presumably this is before he lost his memories, or even got the adamantium.
BlindJustice
BlindJustice - 6/19/2013, 12:31 PM
RDJ did have a big part in Avengers, but let's face it:

Captain America was still in la-la land after being frozen for hmmmm...65 years or so.

Thor had only been to Earth once...and we saw how that went. Thor was also a liability...which he finally realizes for himself just how evil his 'brother' truly is...when he drops him in the containment unit.

Hulk got all the great scenes and ran away with the movie in my opinion. I'm certainly not complaining either! I'm not the only one who thought so. Everyone I've spoken to remembers Hulk getting the best cheers and laughs during the movie.
