Will 'Dazzler' And Other '80s Characters Make An Appearance In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE?
We know that X-Men: Apocalypse will be set in the 1980s (and that a key character from X-Men: First Class will return), but does the time period mean we'll see characters from that decade like Dazzler make an appearance in the movie? It sounds like it might! Read on for details.
Despite the fact Disco was pretty much dead when Dazzler made her debut in 1980, she's still a quintessentially '80s character, so it would make a lot of sense for her to make an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse. Her inclusion would be very interesting to see play out on the big screen as there are a number of directions they could take with such a character, so what are the chances she does turn up? "Could happen," writer Simon Kinberg laughed when asked just that by EW. "We’re certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period." Who fits that description? We'll have to wait and see. Regardless, Kinberg and director Bryan Singer have big plans for exploring that decade. "That’s the era that I grew up in. The music, the fashion, the videogames: We really want to integrate all of that in the movie, and have it infuse the movie with a different vibe."
