LOGAN Director James Mangold Discusses Working With Hugh Jackman Again And A Possible X-23 Movie

Logan might be Hugh Jackman's final time playing Wolverine, but James Mangold seems certain they will work together again in some capacity. The director also fancies taking a stab at a solo X-23 movie...

As Logan's release date draws nearer, we've been hearing quite a bit from those involved with bringing the final solo Wolverine movie (with Hugh Jackman in the claws, at least) to the screen.

Now, in a new interview with We Got This Covered, James Mangold weighs in on the chances of working with Jackman after Logan, and tells the site that he and Hugh will "definitely" collaborate again at some point. Doesn't get much clearer than that!

Of course, there's nothing to indicate that they'd partner up again for a CBM, but Mangold does have designs on another comic book-related project, and thinks X-23 is a perfect candidate for a solo spin-off:

"I think Dafne [Keen] is incredible in the film and I would love to see another film about that character and that’s certainly something I’d be involved in. For me that was one of the big additions I brought to the table, this decision to try to make the film about family and to try to insert Laura and the pressures that would put and the idea about Charles ailing."

This is far from confirmation that an X-23 movie is on the cards, but if 20th Century Fox is positioning the youngster to one day take over as The Wolverine, one would assume there are at least tentative plans for a second movie appearance somewhere down the line.

How would you guys like to see Laura Kinney's story progress on the big screen? Sound off below.

@Pathogen - i think the fact she's so small and young in this is putting me off. i'd rather her be the same age as negasonic than a cutsie little girl/killing machine.

My hopes are high for this movie. It's one of the only three CBMs I think'll be great this year.
