Hugh Jackman (Wolverine in X-Men movies) reportedly has been asked to be the next 007 but has turned down the role.

Dark Horizons says he couldn't find room to be James Bond in the three films on the table since he's doing sci fi thriller The Fountain, the X-Men 3 and Wolverine movies.

There may have been other reasons: "At least that's one whisper doing the rounds - others say wife Debbie talked him out of it and another whisper says Jackman feared becoming typecast. Any of those are pretty reasonable claims," according to Dark Horizons.
