Terry Crews Talks About Bedlam Potentially Returning For X-FORCE/DEADPOOL 3

Deadpool 2 finally saw the live action debut of an X-Force team, with Wade Wilson gathering a group of mutants [and Peter] to help him rescue Firefist. One member of Wade's team that fans were excited to see was Bedlam, portrayed by Terry Crews, who was finally appearing in a comic book film.

However, Crews turned out to be nothing more than a glorified cameo, as Bedlam and the rest of the X-Force outside of Domino were killed off minutes after their introduction in a series of gruesome deaths that were meant to be a joke to the audience.

While some found the demise of the X-Force funny, many fans were unhappy to witness our first incarnation of the iconic team treated this way, especially for characters like Bedlam and Shatterstar that fans had been looking forward to seeing in action. It would later be revealed that unused footage of some X-Force members was purposely included in promos to trick audiences about the role the team would play.

Speaking with Vital Thrills while on a press tour for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Crews was asked if it was always the plan for him to have such a small role, even though promos teased him having a larger presence. Crews notes that his scenes were "a troll from the beginning and it was horrible." He felt "so bad" about just being a cameo, but said that what happened to his character and the others was  exactly "the payoff that the movie needed."

Crews does note that we never actually see his character die on screen, and therefore there is a chance that Bedlam could have survived.Plus, Wade traveled back in time in the after credits and could have saved more of his X-Force team than just Peter. If given the opportunity, Crews would love to return to the franchise for Deadpool 3/ X-Force:

You know what? Actually if you look at the movie, I was on life support. They were trying to revive me, so you didn’t see me get cut up or head cut off. There’s always something. I would love to come back for Deadpool 3.

What did you think of how the X-Force were handled? Would you like to see Terry Crews return as Bedlam in a future Deadpool film? Be sure to share your thoughts.
