20th Century Fox haven't exactly been careful when it comes to X-Men: Apocalypse spoilers, so you probably won't be too surprised to learn that the B-Roll footage for the movie is crammed full of 'em! By far the best thing here though is the fact that we get a great close up look at the superhero costumes which the team don at the end of the movie, all of which pay homage to the comic books.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

As well as returning cast members Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, and a number of others. The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016. What do you guys think of this new clip from the movie? Sound off below...

@kallel - I don't know. That's the only sequence from the movie I've seen, and the way they go about it in this and DOFP pretty much make his power set undefined. It seems more like he's just completely stopping time rather than moving fast. The scenes are fun to watch though.

@ThatHawkguy - The Quicksilver scenes are just music videos. Literally it's just the movie stops so that they can do a music video and then start the movie up again afterward.

I usually don't get too pissy about how powers are depicted, but there is a shockwave slowly (at Quicksilver's speed) approaching someone. So, Quicksilver picks them up, and throws them at a speed that must be several times the speed of sound (because it's far faster than the shockwave itself). At least in the first one they kept it vague how fast he was going and they did the "whiplash protection" thing to at least sort of make it seem kind of grounded.

I'm on record of not liking the first one that much and this one much less... It's just a fun thing dropped into a movie without any real consideration for what it means beyond that one scene.

@ThatHawkguy - only sequence you've seen? you should watch it dude. i really liked it. your review is the only one that counts.
marvel and dc movies portray speedsters as a character suddenly disappearing, with a flashy sound and a photoshopped blur trail left behind. very weak and cheap. nothing overwhelming about there depiction.
fox however have smashed it with this portrayal. we get to live and travel with the speedster. we get to see what he sees. don't you think thats better than the alternative (that marvel and dc do)?
i'm sure they'll come up with some different portrayals eventually.

@kallel - don't get me wrong, I'll definitely see the movie at some point. It's just from what I've seen in the trailers, since the very first one, and word of mouth tells me it's not a movie I'd want to spend theater prices on. It seems like a good enough movie though.

Regarding speedster, the one element I really don't like about Fox's Quicksilver is that he stops moving at certain points yet the world around him is still completely slowed down. It's a nitpick, I guess. Just something that irks me personally.
