Hugh Jackman Talks X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Ending; Reiterates OLD MAN LOGAN Interest

Hugh Jackman shares his thoughts on the final few minutes of X-Men: Days of Future Past (so, SPOILER ALERT! obviously) and what it could mean for Wolverine in his next solo outing. He also teases his involvement in X-Men: Apocalypse and adapting Old Man Logan...

In the above interview with MTV Movies, Hugh Jackman shares his thoughts on what it was like to reunite with some X-Men co-stars in a scene which took place in the new timeline created by the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. He's also quizzed on whether the fact that Wolverine will seemingly no longer fall victim to the Weapon X program means that major changes are in store for the character and in which of these periods his next solo movie will take place in. In an interview with Vulture, Jackman confirmed that there have at least been talks of making James Mangold's follow-up to The Wolverine being an adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Old Man Logan. "We did look at that, because I am rapidly approaching Old Man Logan! [Laughs.] It does, some mornings, feel like the most appropriate way to go. That's in the mix of discussions, yeah." Of course, before we get to that, we'll likely see the actor in X-Men: Apocalypse!

That's the only problem I had with this film. The ending with Mystique having a unconscious Logan was weird. I know that there's a Mystique and Logan comic book run but I highly doubt that's the route they're going. It's always possible Stryker can get his hand on Logan but I dunno. Within the Apocalypse film there's endless possibilities of how Logan will get his adamantium back.

It's impossible to do Old man Logan without marvel studios.

Dear Joss and Feige, the competition is starting to catch up with you.

My only regret came because my brother lied to me.
he told me there was a class trip at the white house when Magneto arrives and when the odds get too much for Beast and Logan three teens emerge and take out some Sentinels. Scott Jean and Warren. So going in I was desperately awaiting a phantom final battle.
Other than that b.s. you really have to be nitpicky to not like this movie. Im a giddy happy chick right now.

why would Joss and Feige care about the competition of fox x-men. look like some you care more then they do.

Stryker could still put the adamantium in Wolverine, I don't think that mystique/stryker scene means anything.
In the movie you can see Stryker interested in the claws, suggesting that's why he wants him

@repulse93 I don't think theyre worried at all.

As for DOFP. I actually am not going to watch it. While I have enjoyed the previous installments in this series. I am disappointed at how fox has handled the rights they have (F4). Then to bully their way into the end credits of spiderman. No thank you. Fox sucks. Simple as that. I'm done supporting their bad marketing and poor business choices. Good luck with an old man logan film without the rest of the marvel universe.

I think Jackman needs to move on with his life now.
It's time to cast a new Wolverine.

I was not expecting for Magneto to go full Magneto in the film. Like shit, Fassbender needs to be in Apocalypse... with force fields!

I love how he brings the baseball stadium with him just for setting the mood. The movie was so damn excellent I need to watch it again right now.

I LOVED the film. butthere are a few things left unresolved, continuity-wise, that still bother me. For instance: How did Professor X get his body back after being desintegrated by the Phoenix in X3? I mean, at the end of "The Wolverine" he appears alive and well, and it's never explained how.

@Franshu,
I think we're being expected to ignore X-3. As far as Singer is concerned it may not have happened. But that means we'll have to ignore The Wolverine, too.

LMAO! Fox-verse started 8yrs before the MCU and they're still catching up.

Anyway, this is up there with X2 and First Class.

Good Film!

@Battabing they did happen to an extent. THat x3 timeline occurred before Wilbur altered the past. Professor x got his body back through his comatose twin. They never really explained how wil or got his adamantium back in the future but I assume magneto did it. It's implied. Maybe mystique will give wolvie his claws in the past and form a mutant strike team? Team x in the comics. Impersonate styker and take power in the covert area of the military. Recruit havok and those ther Vietnam mutants

whiteassmatt - 5/23/2014, 10:50 AM
@Franshu missing it doesn't really bother me at all.

I actually respect the passion that went in to making the comics. Fox has created a cash cow. As long as people keep watching the movies they'll keep making them, bad or good. Not buying in any more. That's all I'm saying.

I would love an Old Man Logan film, but its to bad it wont ever happen. I've actually noticed a trend in the Marvel CBM's. Most of the actors would love to do crossovers with the other studios properties, its just the people in charge who are holding it back.
shamo
shamo - 5/23/2014, 10:56 AM
But I'd say making the best CBM to date does. btw, what's that RT score looking like right now? People still waiting for it to drop?
