Imagine a deleted scene where the characters are wearing legit comic book costumes...

I just would have loved to be in the room when Fox said "The X-Men will not wear costumes similar to that of their comic book counterparts." I'd love to know if someone raised their voice and said "But that does make sense", or if they all nodded their heads in agreement.

What made Avengers so awesome was the teamwork moments. The MCU has better team up moments in 30 minutes of the Avengers than the entire X-Men franchise.

Well, there was that one scene when the X-men all died together.....

Thank you for that, you beautiful man.

@Pasto, yeah that interaction between Warpath, Blink, and Colossus in DOFP is as close to a good comicbook team up that FOX has ever been.

Yeah that "yellow spandex" line was only valid until Raimi reminded the world that costumes can be cool.

@NerdMan

How do you explain First Class and The Wolverine is the franchise was dead?

So now comic book costumes are flamboyant...

They had the costume department work really hard to come up with some futuristic costume on their own, when all they had to do was open an X-Men comic from the 80's

You're kidding yourselves if you're trying to make excuses in this day and age NOT to use a somewhat comic book accurate outfit for the characters you're adapting. This isn't the stone age, we've advanced pretty damn far to where [frick]ing Cosplayers can make better costumes than the ones we get on film.

@MercwithMouth I was referring to Spider-Man. I'm not defending the Raimi series. Don't get me wrong. There have been a lot of movies (MoS, Avengers, The Watchmen, X-Men: FC) that have confirmed the fact that Singer can have brighter color uniforms and people won't be turned off.

I'm more ticked about Cyclops getting the shaft in every single X-Men film more than the horrendous costuming.

@SuperheroFan96 don't bring up the Alcatraz scene. There was barely any team work there. And not to mention that scene was a textbook way not to use wirework.

@Wannabe, yeah I am too. Cyclops is such a complex character who was reduced down to an annoying cliche.

Dr. Doom better be more accurate this time around than the previous films. He was nerfed so hard.

@HAILHYDRA

It's all good. I just wanted a free shot at Raimi's crap, lol.

I agree, however, that the costumes SHOULD be more accurate. But, I'm one of those lucky people that don't give a damn. The captured the essence of the X-Men, and they made damn fine films. Works for me.

I never said the costumes had to be ripped right off the comic book pages. All they need to do is share some similarities to the product they are imitating. The pic I posted of the Wolverine costume isn't ripped right off the page of a Wolverine comic, but thats the type of outfit I'd like to see in a Wolverine costume. It's far better than a tight as balls leather costume that is all black (sans two orange lines).
