DIE HARD 6 Gets A Possible Screenwriter And Title; DIE HARDEST (Seriously!)

As if A Good Day To Die Hard wasn't bad enough, Fox are close to giving a sixth instalment in the franchise a green light and have hired Ben Trebilcook to pen a treatment. The working title of the movie? Die Hardest. And no, we're not joking!

Total Film reports that the next instalment in the Die Hard franchise - which is currently titled Die Hardest - now has a writer. Ben Trebilcook is penning a treatment which will reportedly see the story begin in New York before moving to Tokyo. According to the writer, his take "is extremely faithful to the franchise and characters and is a natural progression. It's also a very plausible storyline." A Die Hard movie with a "plausible storyline"?! Surely not! Trebilcook is also confident that his take on the franchise will please fans, going so far as to describe it as "the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise." The film is still in the very early stages of production, so a lot could change between now and when the green light is officially given. Do you like the sound of this?

Die Hard does not have a franchise; it's a stand-alone movie. Any follow-up to it only bears the namesake of the true and only Die Hard.

Okay, okay. Up to the third - hell, or even the fourth - I think it still fairly "lives." A Good Day to Die Hard simply kills it, and...Die Hardest? I'll go after the mother[frick]ers who conceived it.

God Hollywood never knows when to stop flogging a dead horse!

They'd have been better off making John McClaine a pornstar in adult movies with a permanent stiffy, the titles would have suited them better.

Maybe this will be the Rocky Balboa of the series. Redeems the awful fifth movie with a back-to-basics grit.

So far my favorite in the series is "Die Hard" (the first one). Two and 3 were decent and 4 wasn't that good (in my opinion). I haven't seen the latest one but the trailers for it look great!

Why do people go see this crap? Please stop. If it wasn't Willis under the Die Hard moniker these movies would be right next to the latest Dolph Lungren movie at Redbox.

Yeah I was disappointed with Good day to die Hard. Let this series end and also the fast and furious films too.

Make it christmas movie again. Let McClane be on the way to his ex wife's house where he is invited to celebrate christmas with his ex wife and their children. But he has to do some last minute present shopping in a mall. And in the mall he has an encounter with some criminals or terrorists. There we go. Oh and name it Old Habits Die Hard.

The original, the third and the fourth (sue me) are some of my favourite movies of all time, but the fifth ruined a franchise that imo didnt have a single stinker. It was just generic in every way. A decent/average action movie but a god awful die hard movie. But Willis said before the fifth was released that he planned to do a sixth, and final, movie. I hope they end it on a high note. It should really end the way it started, just willis in a building on his own with the bad guys. First and second were small scale, third went city wide, fourth went nation-wide and fifth went international. Unless they plan to escalate things to space, take him back to a building. And put his daughter in a situation that requires nudity, if possible, coz... Damn.

I seriously doubt that's what they're gonna call it. I'm pretty sure that's just a working title for now. They will change it. I still think they can make a good die hard flick. Just have to find the right director and have a good story. Bruce Willis can still make action movies. He still looks good when kicking ass. Die hard 5 was not as bad as people say. Is it the weakest one so far? Yes. But it was still entertaining. The villain was the weakest part of the movie. A better bad guy would have helped. 4 was pretty good. So I know they can come back with something better.

Or how about these:

- Boldly Go Where No Man Has Died Hard Before
- Call of Die Hard
- Die Hard Infinite
- All I Want for Christmas is to Die Hard
- Planet of Die Hard
- One for the Money, Two for the Show, Three to Get Ready, and Four to Die Hard
