The original Oldboy is one of my favorite movies, and that looks great to me..pointless maybe..but great.

This looks awesome!! They did sort of give away the Hammer fight, but I don't really mind.
Also, I completely forgot Samuel L Jackson was in it!

So the i to the s is gone. That's the original ending neutered.

IDK, I'll wait for the reviews for this one and considering how little I trust reviews after MOS that in itself says something...

A lot of the scenes are in the trailers parallels a lot of scenes from the original Korean version though they claim the American version sticks closer to the manga than the original but I don't see how's that possible when already it looks like an exact remake.

On the bright side they seems to have changed a lot from the original. On the down side it looks pretty bad. Josh Brolin is a good pick but other than that I see no redeeming quality so far.

Not impressed, used to like spike lee but this seems a paint by numbers remake with an already ruined ending...how odd that he would damage what was such a fantastic shocking ending...the memory wipe bit

The Korean film is NOT THE ORIGINAL. Look up the Japanese manga it was based on , because the Korean film CHANGED many aspects of it. Stop treating this film like a remake and you might enjoy it more

I'm sorry bout this doesn't look that great. The original was good and the main actor was great. I just don't see Josh Brolin being all that great in this. You'd think being locked up for 20 years, he'd be a little insane, but he just seems like a normal dude going for revenge in this remake.

No, they weren't. They were opinions themselves. Coloured by the fact that MOS said and did things some people were not expecting. So instead of reviewing MOS for what it was, they damned MOS for what it isn't. Namely STM.
