No matter whether you love or hate the Fast & Furious franchise, you'll surely have to agree that there's not a better series than this one at retconning past events in order to tell new stories!

That looks set to be the case in this summer's Fast X because the new Super Bowl trailer for the movie (which first dropped on ActioNewz.com) reveals Jason Momoa's Dante is, in fact, a familiar face from the past...we just haven't met him before! As you can see in this action-packed preview, it appears he's the son of Fast Five villain Hernan Reyes and is now out to make Dom pay for his past transgressions.

It's a clever twist and one that's going to lead to the return of other big-name characters

Elsewhere, there's plenty of nostalgia and stunts to be found, including a ridiculously over-the-top stunt involving a car and two helicopters (it's admittedly awesome) and a badass fight featuring Letty and Cypher.

The movie's returning stars include Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, and Scott Eastwood. It was recently revealed that Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will return as Gisele Yashar despite the character's death in Fast & Furious 6.

As for franchise newcomers, we can expect to also see Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Daniela Melchoir (The Suicide Squad), and Alan Ritchson (Titans).

Based on the characters created by Gary Scott Thompson, the latest instalment takes the family around the globe from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tbilisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.

Fast & Furious 10, a.k.a. Fast X, is set to race into theaters on May 19.

@UniqNo - also I asked this already but didn't get a response...

Is it normal for movie tickets to go on sale a whole 3 months plus before it comes out? I understand stage shows, but a movie?

@CamtonoOfBeskar - I thought the same thing. Hated the last one and thought I was done with this franchise but this trailer sucked me back in. Showed WAYYYYYY too much as usual though.

You can just see the loathing in his eyes, just had enough of him.
Scarpered out of there, rather than spend months with Vin

Glad he dipped out. Don’t age yourself directing schlock like this.

This looks..... kinda normal compared to the last few?
StSteven
StSteven - 2/10/2023, 3:41 PM
@MUTO123 - Well that's just because they're leaving the part of the movie out of the trailers where Jason Momoa kidnaps Michelle and injects her with a deadly virus and the only way to save her is for Vin to steal an experimental machine in the shape of a '71 Hemi Cuda that allows him to shrink small enough to be injected into her bloodstream where he is in a literal race against time driving through her arteries and veins at top speed dodging blood cells and zapping the virus as it replicates exponentially (or as it's explained to Vin (because "exponentially" is a BIG word): 2 x 2 x 2 x 2...). His real challenge: taunting the virus while keeping the windows rolled up so he can still breathe.

@StSteven - the whole virus part and a car being the only way to counter it sounds exactly the kind of thing this franchise could do
StSteven
StSteven - 2/10/2023, 6:12 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Yep. And, actually now that I think about it: Vin couldn't just be racing against time to save her life because there's no human antagonist there, so Momoa will say something like "Where did he get that thing?" and his lackeys will take him to the lab where they will uncover a SECOND shrinking car in the form of a Lamborghini Aventador (because we ALWAYS have to have American muscle cars vs. European sports cars in these movies). Then they will shrink Momoa down and inject him into Michelle as well, and he'll be racing through her bloodstream after Vin to stop him from stopping the virus.

THEN Vin will have his one-on-one race to the death with the bad guy. And I forgot to mention that naturally their shrinking cars would have lasers attached to the front so that Vin can shoot the virus and then Momoa when he shows up. Oh, and of course the shrinking will only last for a certain period of time, so after Vin blows up Momoa (which probably results in Michelle having heartburn or something), Vin has to race to find an exit, which is naturally going to be her nose so that she sneezes his car out just as it returns to normal size.

And of course, there's a "guy in the chair" somehow navigating Vin throug Michelle's body throughout the scene. AND it goes without saying that as he's exiting Michelle's nose, Vin screams "This is for my family!!!".

@StSteven - nah, I'm pretty sure it would be straight-up rocketlaunchers instead of lasers
StSteven
StSteven - 2/11/2023, 1:12 PM
@bkmeijer1 - I'd go with rocket launchers on the Hemi Cuda ('cause Vin's old skool like that) but lasers on the Lambo. That way Momoa has a technological advantage which makes it that much more satisfying when Vin reduces him into a puff of smoke that Michelle burps out or whatever.

bkmeijer1 - 2/11/2023, 1:36 PM
@StSteven - [sips petrol-infused coffee] yeah, I like that.
StSteven
StSteven - 2/11/2023, 11:32 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Huh. So that's how you chaps like your coffee then. Personally, instead of sugar I like to just swirl in some cocaine, and I would expect that Vin does as well, because honestly, how else can you pull off those stunts without ever breaking a sweat? Naturally, I'l follow that up with a 4-pack of "Rockstar"s to help take the edge off. Helps me get my blood pressure back to a nice healthy 210/130 (which I'm pretty sure is normal, right?).

Cheers!
