After the success of the first Expendables starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke we have been hearing all sorts of rumblings concerning a sequel. Now Nu Image has released the first artwork and plot synopsis for the film.

Synopsis...

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They’re not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

Although no cast or director have been announced, there is a release date of August 17, 2012 attached to the film.

Anyone have an idea how Bruce Willis fits into this plot? Since I thought he was the main villain, unless hes the dictator which I doubt.

The only problem with the first one was there was too much drama and "story". Needed more action.

JCVD refused to be in the first one because he was supposed to lose a fight to Jet Li, so he can stay out of these movies as far as i'm concerned.

especially considering that Jet Li would whoop his monkey ass in real life. lol

anyway, the first one, i thought, was highly overrated. it was very boring until the very end.

I would like to see Kurt Russell, The Rock, Wesley Snipes, Danny Trejo, Michael Ironside, Scott Adkins, Olivier Gruner, Michael Biehn, Michael Dudikoff, Tony Jaa, Sho Kosugi, Franco Nero, Collin Chou and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (as the dictator) make appearance in this!:)

The Expendables was such an overrated disappointment. Statham was the only standout star from the movie. Annoying thing is; I know I'll be seeing the sequel.
At least Mickey Rourke is gone from the 2nd. He was shocking.
