looks like it'd be a good movie but you know, with all the crossover's happening... I wouldn't mind seeing a crossover with Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross, Jack Ryan, and James Bond but that's just me and my wishful thinking...

I've seen better trailers to be honest, but I've seen way less convincing ones then this.

If I get the chance, I will be seeing this in theaters.

And the franchise is reborn!!! I think Chris Pine might have another hit on his hands. Hope this guy becomes the next Green Lantern. He'd be perfect.

The description doesn't fit the trailer...maybe they scrapped the PRE-CIA story seeing that Harper told Ryan he was no longer an analyst that he was now operational

I've always thought they should've made movies based on John Clark, not Jack Ryan. In the books, it is Clark who is the Bond-esque super agent. Ultimately, in the later books Ryan sees little or no action at all, while Clark, and later on his partner Domingo Chavez, sees lots of action. The book "Without Remorse" would make an outstanding movie, and "Rainbow Six" (the book that the games were based on) would be awesome too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some fanboy who is going to whine and moan about how "they took a dump on Jack Ryan." Most of those later Ryan books would not adapt well to being turned into a movie, although they would have been very good as a mini-series on HBO or another cable network. And I think Clancy wrote one book, "Red Rabbit" that put Ryan a little more into the action mainly to be turned into a movie. So they're doing what they need to do to make movies that will appeal to a wide audience, which is fine and which I will watch. But I do wish they would take advantage of John Clark too.

Looks awesome! Definitely want to see it. Branagh's a great director, Pine's one of the best actors in recent memory (even though I still get the feeling he's underrated by some), Costner's a pro in anything, and Knightley looks gorgeous. Wasn't that into the previous Jack Ryan movies - Patriot Games and Clear & Present Danger fell kinda flat for me, but they were alright. Haven't seen The Sum of All Fears. The Hunt for Red October demanded multiple viewings from me before I could even understand what was really going on, but it was still a dang good film. And if what the rumors we heard long ago are true, then Tom Hardy will get in on this franchise, and have his own spin-off film. I think that was gonna be the "Without Remorse" adaptation, if I'm not mistaken. And, if anyone else here is a fan of Pine and Hardy's film, "This Means War", then we already know they are great together if their characters in this franchise were to ever meet up.

This looks great! I'll definitely be seeing this.

@GenerationX It is a bit confusing, because he is an undercover CIA analyst working as a stock broker. How many stock brokers do you know that could evade an armed gunman and physically defend himself like that lol?

In the movie, he was most likely secretly recruited by the CIA while he was working over in Moscow, hence the subtitle "Shadow Recruit." It could be considered a spoiler, so that's probably why the synopsis says that.

This movie is about his first time out as a field operative.

Haven't seen any of the Jack Ryan films, and the trailer only looked as mildly interesting as that Alex Cross garbage of last year. But it is Branagh, and Knightley has put on an impressive American accent for the role, so we'll see.

Looks like they made Ryan Bond and Bourne. Which is not a good thing. Ryan movies are thrillers first and then action movies.

Not winning Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games and Hunt for Red October.

Looks good, but in Hunt for Red October, doesn't Ryan say he is just an analyst? Loos like he's a bit more than an analyst here.
