I like what I see so far, I think this movie should wait a few years though and renew this genre. Has a PotC feel to it.

I am a huge swashbuckler fan and have watched every Three Musketeer movie or any spin-off/remake there is, but I am not quite sure about rehashing it yet again. This looks a bit over-the-top for the period that they were in. That is part of the challenge of remaking an era piece and trying to keep it true to the period, yet still working in modern filming and technology. It just looks a little too "modern" to me. I will still watch it, but not overly blown away from the authenticity view of things.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to borrow a page out of Grif's book on this one..

If your ever curious as to whether a film will be good or bad, take a look at the cast list. If Orlando Bloom is in it set fire to it. (Yes, I'm aware he was in LOTR. The sun even shines on a dog's ass sometimes:)

I have to agree with Darmatter on this one. How many times does this story have to be filmed "by the book"? Embellish a little on the characters and story, they aren't writing new ones. And no, I don't want the original story or writings to be forgotten but I don't think it hurts at all to expand on them.

The different points of view on this film remind me very much of those on First Class and I think it's sort of funny seeing the shoe on the other foot.

Itbegins2005@ It was easy for me to not be a fan of First Class prior to the trailer coming out because I do not like where they decided to go with film in the first place. Half the First Class missing, screwed up continuity, going back to the 60's and doing teeny X-Men doesn't interest me...the list could go on. No matter how great the trailer is, if I don't like where they are going with the film...I don't like where they are going with the film. ;-)

Hawks@ I understand where you and Darkmatter are coming from. I will rent it to watch some some fun action, but it hardly looks true to the period. I still like a little realism involved in a period piece. The hot-air balloon scene in The Count of Monte Cristo worked well. The flying ship in this trailer just doesn't work at all for me.

We all have our likes, dislikes and opinions and just because mine may not coincide with others doesn't make me a hater. The term "hater" is used a little too loosely around these parts.

Darkmatter@ I would have to agree the scope and overboard stunts and technology don't really bother me. How many Three Musketeer movies are they going to release that stick to the story....SNOOZE! I am totally cool with this!

Ror@ LMAO even though I disagree with you on this movie I still thought that was funny "The sun even shines on a dog's ass sometimes" but yeah I'm not an Orlando Bloom fan either, he annoys me but he didn't say a word in the trailer so we are on the right track LOL!

Hawks@ So true, but the last thing i think you want to do is start a first class debate unless you want LEE to arrive with his anti first class rants for the thousandth time. Or maybe you do which makes you a horrible horrible person LOL!

Ranger: If you're talking about the Jim Caviezel Count of Monte Cristo, what an under rated movie. I love that film.

Brash: You are correct sir. I avoid most First Class articles because it seems both sides are under the opinion that the other side has absolutely no right to one. ;P
