While her future in the DCEU remains uncertain, Dope actress KIersey Clemons' career isn't slowing down.

Variety is reportng that Schrodinger's Iris West will be starring in the upcoming Zorro reboot from Gravity writer Jonas Cuaron, which back in 2016 was said to have tapped Gael Garcia Bernal as the titular vigilante.

The sword wielding swashbuckler was last seen in theatres portrayed by Antonio Banderas in Martin Campbell's fantastically underrated 1998 film The Mask of Zorro, followed by a lacklustre 2005 sequel in The Legend of Zorro.

Not much is known about the current reboot, said to be titled simply Z. and we've heard little from the project in the two years since Cuaron and Bernal were linked to the film - but with this recent devlopment we could see Diago de la Vega riding back onto the big screen sooner rather than later.

What do you think? Are you ready for another cinematic Zorro? Are you looking forward to seeing more from Clemons, and do you still want her in Flashpoint? Leave your comments below.

@Saga - Last time they had a female Zorro was Linda Sterling in the 1944 serial 'Zorro's Black Whip' and they didn't call her Zorro or Zorra, she was the Black Whip. Little weird to have a Zorro serial where your Zorro isn't called Zorro at all, if you ask me, but whatevs.

@BlindWedjat - Not again. It will be a trailer of a mexican guy running around and not a single shot his costume or even a sword.

@CrazyCipher - the concept of rebooting Zorro. Just don’t understand the thought process behind some of the decisions made.

@chewie - It's a staple of cinema, they were bound to reboot it, again, at some point.

I just don't want to see another Zorro reboot where Diego passes down the mantle.

We've already had at least four completely different sons and one guy from outta nowhere (Banderas) inherit the mantle from Don Diego.

Maybe this time they can have it set in the late 1800s and have JoaquinDe La Vega (Banderas' son from the last film) pass down the mantle to Clemons.

If the producers of this are smart, they should try to make this te hispanic equivalent to black phanter, especially with the whole trump-wall thing going on
just cast all the major hispanic actors out there, kinda like black phanter did this with his strong all-black cast:
michael peña
javier bardem
penelope cruz
andy garcia
ana de armas
etc, etc

@NicolausCopernicus - A "wall thing" will have little to no influence on a Zorro movie. The Zorro serials made money decades ago and there was no "wall thing." It simply makes sense to cast Mexicans considering the story consists of Mexicans. Casting "a strong all-black cast" works for BP because it takes place in an African nation.

Honestly, I just want to see a good old fashioned Zorro movie similar to the tone from "The Mask of Zorro" with some mythology aspects thrown into it with Diego de la Vega. Wasn't there supposed to be one based on the 2005 novel?
