Variety is reporting that 16-year-old newcomer Danika Yarosh is being eyed by Paramount and Skydance Pictures to star in Tom Cruise's upcoming Jack Reacher sequel as Reacher's daughter. A deal hasn't officially been closed yet, because, as of this posting, there are still concerns about a potential scheduling conflict between the Ed Zwick-directed sequel and Yarosh's committments to the upcoming NBC revival Heroes Reborn, but Variety's sources have confirmed that she is definitely the frontrunner after strong chemistry reads with Cruise over the past month.

Outside of Cruise, Cobie Smulders (Avengers: Age Of Ultron) has reportedly been in talks for the lead female role. Production on the film, which is expected to adapt Lee Child's Never Go Back, is set to kick off this November. The studios are currently in the process of finding the film's villain.

What do you guys think of this latest addition? Who would you like to see face-off against Cruise? Sound off with your thoughts below!

I liked the first one and welcome a sequel. Cruise did a good job in the role and the author gave him the stamp of approval.
Who the frick says "First" anymore that's over 5 years old? Bragging rights get you laid and free drinks at the tavern?

@Scorpion8125 if you have read every one of the books, you will remember that this book has a big subplot where Reacher is led to believe he MIGHT have a daughter around the age of 15-16 and this ends up playing out in a big way. He meets her, has a meal or two with her, etc.

@Scorpion8125 Quickly is not quite accurate as it was much, much closer to the end of the book than the beginning of the book that he finds out she is not his daughter, but it is not like they are going to put that revelation in the marketing so by casting her as his "daughter", the surprise / suspense would B ruined.

Hey, not debating you there on the size of Tom Cruise. I had never heard of Jack Reacher until the first movie came out and since then, I've read every single Reacher novel, in order, and his defining physical characteristic is his size. 6'5, 250, huge hands, blonde hair, scars (specifically one from a jawbone to his side) and NOT a pretty boy.

@Scorpion8125 typo! What I meant was the surprise / suspense WOULDN'T be ruined.

@clarkman

hahaha, she does!

Also, she looks plastic and botoxed there. Is that just a shitload of makeup or some kind of photo shop?

16 is the new 26 these days.
