Howard Gordon Discusses The Recent "Stirrings" Surrounding 24: THE MOVIE
Talking at the Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday, former 24 showrunner Howard Gordon has offered something of a vague update on the status of a big screen adaptation, just days after Kiefer Sutherland assured fans that work is still moving ahead on it.
Deadline reports that when producer Howard Gordon was asked about the on-again, off-again big screen version of 24, he remained fairly vague and far less certain than Kiefer Sutherland (who recently said that it will begin shooting as soon as filming wraps on the second season of Touch). Gordon told those in attendance at the TCA panel for Homeland that, "My understanding of that is, having gone quiet in a way that I didn’t think boded well for that, there’s been some stirrings recently, so I think it’s something everyone’s gunning for." However, while the fate of the film remains unclear for now, the producer did say that he will be involved with it. "As far as whether my work on [Homeland] will impede that — not at all. There’s a script that’s been written, and I think the issues now are more about the director’s schedule and Kiefer’s [Sutherland] schedule."
