JACK RYAN Set For 2013 Release; Tom Hardy In Talks To Star In WITHOUT REMORSE Spin-Off

Kenneth Branagh's Jack Ryan is now on course for a late 2013 release as Keira Knightley signs up as love interest Anne Archer. Meanwhile, Paramount are now making plans for a spin-off which will link the two franchises and star both Kevin Costner and possibly Tom Hardy.

Deadline reports that Jack Ryan is set to be released in the 4th quarter of 2013 as Paramount start making plans for the film to be the first in a trilogy. Chris Pine (Star Trek) has already been cast as the title character (who in the past has been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck). Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean ) has now been confirmed as Anne Archer; an important casting choice for the studio as they potentially have plans to use the love interest in all three films. Based on the Tom Clancy novels, Jack Ryan will be directed by Kenneth Branagh (THOR), while he will also play the Russian villain who plots to destroy the US economy. It was recently revealed that Kevin Costner (Man of Steel) will have a key role in this film and a spin-off Without Remorse which would star him and potentially Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) as well. The spin off is already out, its called This Means War.

Hardy can sure get a trilogy cant he. Mad Max is the first of one, and he's rumored to be playing Al Capone in a trilogy based on his life.

Tom Hardy cast as John Kelly/John Clark? That would be a great pick for that character. They have been trying to adapt the book Without Remorse since the mid-90s...

This Means War? As in romcom disaster? Really?

Now this is getting interesting. Would be cool to see Hardy as John Kelly in Without Remorse. :)
Colin Farrell would be cool too. Or Sam Worthington.

You probably meant Cathy Ryan. Anne Archer is the actress who played Cathy Ryan (Jack Ryan´s wife) in Patriot Games.

Just read Without Remorse and I gotta say I like the idea of Tom hardy as Kelly. Oh, and for the plot's inoriginality, please remember that Tom Clancy wrote these stories in the 80's and the 90's.

Okay, so 'Jack Ryan' is the actual name of the movie? Not Red Rabbit, or The Cardinal and the Kremlin or any of the actual book titles? Is this an original story? I'm getting a bad feeling about this.

Hardy as Clark? Not no, but HELL no!

Pine would be an excellent Flash. Though I doubt that he would do it any time soon, since he'll be busy with Jack Ryan and Star Trek.

Tom Hardy need these trilogies!

1-Mad Max (We need a decent action trilogy, non-superhero based, with great acting. This may be it!)

2- The Al Capone Trilogy will/ sound like it will be awesome!

3- James Bond- Tom Hardy mentioned hed be intrested in the next incarnation of Mr.Bond! Imagine Chris Nolan directing a Bond film with either Michael Fassbender or Tom Hardy as James Bond!!!

Hey Genius....Jack Ryan's wife is Cathy Ryan. Anne Archer is the actress that played her.

first off...WOW!! never thought i'd get to see all three big movie spies ruling fighting each other at the box office in the same period. Bond, Bourne..and now, Ryan..oh, and just wait til BAUER joins the party at the theater nearest you. THAT would be dope. (do they still say 'dope' anymore..??)

anyways.. now on to Hardy as Capone. sure he can do a really interesting Capone on screen, but, i dunno...just think he's too WHITE..like anglo-white to play the real-life scarface. but, i think i'd rather see Hardy plays Capone than Nic Cage anytime any day...

last...seems all the young actors nowadays are gunning to own as many franchise as possible. Renner (Mission: Impossible, Marvel Cine-verse and now, Bourne), Pine (Star Trek and Jack Ryan) and now, his This Means War co-star, Hardy (Mad Max and now maybe a tom clancy's character).

I don't know about a spin-off for the Jack Ryan movie. I don't see how that would work.

If they cast Tom Hardy as John Clark, it would be interesting not only because he already co-star Pine in This Means War but also because it means that all three cinematic incarnations of Clark would be played by the actors who had played or will play (at the times of each movie's production) famous supervillains in comic book movies - Green Goblin, Sabertooth, and Bane!

Yes!! I have been waiting for Without Remorse to be made into a movie.

@mgeoff88 I think the John Kelly/John Clark books are better then the Jack Ryan ones.
