Julianne Moore In Talks To Join THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY In Key Role
The casting process for the two-part finale of The Hunger Games franchise has begun, as Julianne Moore (Carrie, The Lost World: Jurassic Park) is wanted to play 'President Alma Coin' in both films based on the Mockingjay novel.
With The Hunger Games: Catching Fire now finished filming, development is moving forward on adapting the Mockingjay novel, which will be split into two films wrapping up the series. According to Deadline, actress Julianne Moore is wanted by Lionsgate and director Francis Lawrence to fill the role of President Alma Coin, who is described as "the manipulative politician who figures brightly in the finale as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) becomes a symbol of rebellion against the autocratic Capitol government." Jodie Foster was previously approached for the part. Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Philip Seymour Hoffman will reprise their respective roles from prior films. Moore will next be seen in films such as Seventh Son and the Carrie remake. What do you think of this casting choice?
