Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a huge success for Sony back when it debuted in cinemas December 2017. With direct competition with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, many were expecting the film to underperform, but instead the sequel became a sleeper hit, managing to accumulate almost $1 billion worldwide.
Though a lot of the narrative rested on its main cast of video game characters, the emotional and more charming beats relied on Johnson, Black, Hart and Gillen's teenage counterparts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, all four of them will be back for the untitled sequel. With the inclusion of Alex Wolff, Ser'Darius Blain, Madison Iseman and Morgan Turner, the sequel is set to start production in the next few months.
In addition to the film's teenage cast, Nick Jonas' video game counterpart will be returning as well. As the fifth avatar on the console, it is possible that the real-world human playing the character may be different from the one seen in the predecessor. Anything is possible when it comes to this crazy game.
