MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Star Charlize Theron Hasn't Ruled Out A Return As Furiosa For Potential Sequel

Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller is currently working on a prequel starring Anya Taylor-Joy as a younger take on Furiosa, but is there any chance Charlize Theron might be convinced to reprise the role for a follow-up down the line?

It's no secret that Theron and co-star Tom Hardy (Max Rokatansky) didn't exactly see eye-to-eye while filming Miller's action masterpiece, and the Academy award-winning actress' gruelling experiences in other areas of the production are well documented.

Even so, it sounds like she wouldn't rule out a return to the Wasteland!

While speaking to THR, Theron was asked about her three-picture deal and the prospect of being given another opportunity to collaborate with Miller on a sequel.

"Maybe. Listen, I’m not mad about [Miller doing a prequel instead of a sequel]. One of the greatest [frick]ing actresses [Anya Taylor-Joy] is picking up something that I only imagined."

"I never really truly appreciated or respected George Miller’s vision until I saw [the completed film and] went, 'Oh my God, this is what was in his head the whole time and I couldn’t hear it,'" she continued. "And so it’s the one movie where I go, “If I had another opportunity, I’d get a little bit more of what he tried to do in the first one.”

Miller has previously spoken about the possibility of a Fury Road sequel, but whether it'll ever actually come to fruition - and Theron would still be interested in returning - is very much up in the air.

Would you be down for a Fury Road follow-up? If Miller declined to return, are there any other directors you'd like to see take over the franchise? Drop us a comment down below.

Fury Road lost WB money. If Furiosa is not a hit, there won't be anymore of the Mad Max movies. And Furiosa is not going to be a hit.

@DocSpock - 15-20 years ago sure. She's looking pretty haggard these days.

The Wall comes for them all.

I think she defines beauty & grace. If anything, I think she is more attractive now that she was 20 years ago.
