MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT Gets An Unreal New Trailer That Sees Henry Cavill Hunt Down Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise vs. Henry Cavill. It's happening!

As far as cinematic square-offs go, it really doesn't get much better than this as we all get to watch along as arguably the biggest movie star of all-time throws down with Superman himself in a film that, when all things are said and done, may ultimately go down as the biggest action movie of our generation.

The new trailer opens by reestablishing the threat of Solomon Lane (Sean Harris), who has very recently escaped captivitiy, before switching gears and introducing CIA special agent August Walker (Henry Cavill). While he seems to be a good guy on paper, we quickly learn that he has his own agenda and has actually been
tasked with hunting down our favorite IMF Agent, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), the minute he goes rogue, which is something that pretty much everyone sees as an inevitability at this point.

It's not entirely clear whether or not Cavill is the true villain of the picture, but we do get to see him provide plenty of opposition to Cruise during some of the film's biggest moments, which include, but are not limited to, a motorcycle chase, a helicopter chase, a cliffside fight, a HALO jump, and a lot more.

Watch the official trailer below:

This trailer with the somewhat generic music didn't do half as much as the first one using 'Friction'. Just doesn't have the same energy, somehow.

But... this will still likely be the first Mission Impossible movie I'll watch on the big screen.

While I’ve never cared for the stories of the MI films (no matter how many I see, I have zero attachment to the franchise or characters), the shooting of practical stunts in this looks pretty damn amazing. Admittedly, edited down into a trailer it’s also kind of hilarious, especially to see Cruise and others constantly crashing vehicles and flying across the screen, but when they shoot such scenes from close angles like that and still have everything read that well (as opposed to the visual nonsense of shaky-cam action films or Transformers unidentifiable visual stew action scenes) I can’t blame them for making crash porn and showing it off.

this looks AWESOME, but man Cavill's about to play catch with fastest man alive after Usain Bolt, he better step up. I mean Bolt has won medals but Tom has been running from nuclear explosions, sandstorms 'n shit.
