Deadline is reporting that Frederick Schmidt has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures' Mission: Impossible 6. Details on his role and/or the film's plot were not provided.
3x Academy Award-nominated superstar Tom Cruise will, of course, headline the sixth installment in his flagship franchise with a supporting cast that will feature Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Vanessa Kirby, Sian Brooke, and Henry Cavill.
Rogue Nation helmer Chris McQuarrie is back in the director's chair with a script he wrote and production on the highly anticipated sequel is set to begin on April 10 in London. Other locations on their shooting schedule include Paris, India, and New Zealand.
Schmidt is best known for his recent portrayal of the DC Comics villain John Corben a.k.a. Metallo on The CW's hit superhero series Supergirl. His recent credits also include the FX miniseries Taboo and the western Brimstone. He can be seen next in the crime thriller The Marker and the Natalie Dormer-led horror Patient Zero.
