Monster Hunt is the big screen directorial debut for
“Shrek” animator
Raman Hui a veteran animator who has worked on multiple Dreamworks’ animated films and shorts including
“Puss in Boots” and
“Shrek 3”. While the film has received mixed English speaking reviews it i
s already a financial success having earned $211 million worldwide after only two weeks in theaters. Monster Hunt now ranks as the fifth highest grossing film of all time in China. It only falls behind
Jurassic World,
Avengers: Age of Ultron,
Transformers: Age of Extinction and
Furious 7.
