That was different. I personally would like it to get an American release, this way more Chinese movies will come out in the future. Plus maybe then more studios will put more asian actors in leading roles. Maybe it will even increase the chances for a Cassandra Cain film when she was in Hong Kong.

I don't care about the movie, it probably is shit. It's your racism that I find offensive.

@dceddie

Haha the progressive who says a movie is dumb because it's Chinese. Well done.

As a Chinese, this thing looks really stupid and creepy. I don't think you are racist, you are just being bluntly honest.

@bigchinese

He said he's different from all Chinese people because Chinese people like dumb movies.
- Americans like dumb movies
- Not every Chinese person liked this movie

The movie is dumb because movies are dumb, not because it's Chinese. What does it have to do with race? What about the 14 year old Chinese kid who now won't talk about this movie with this white friends tomorrow because he thinks he is "very different" for being excited for this movie? And why does dceddie have to be so condescending about it?

Dceddie didn't use any racist slurs, but he certainly identifies all Chinese people as the same and that he is in some way superior. In the first comment of the page no less.

@dceddie

So a Chinese guy says to you, "I have formed the opinion that you and I are very different because Avatar was the biggest western movie of all time and I think that the trailer for it looks stupid"

I realize that he doesn't call you a cracker here, but he's still making generalizations about all Americans based some cultural bullshit. Which is the definition of racism.

So yes, it's no wonder there are race issues when people like you are completely oblivious to the fact that you are being offensive.

@nibs

I know this is very difficult to accept. Let's not make this a race problem. If some particular group of people welcome some particular kind of dumb crap which is really crap almost universally, will you say these people are dumb?

Yes, not every Chinese like dumb movie. I am a Chinese and I don't like this, but if there is a proven record that a majority of Chinese liked this movie so much they would actually paid to see this, I think it is safe to say that Chinese is dumb.

It is a very very deep topic. If you grew up in where I grew up, you would understand how dumb Chinese can actually be.

@bigchinese

Look at the problem with racism right now in America, let's say against black males. It isn't that people are calling them n-words or burning them on crosses (which does still happen, for sure), but the main issue right now is that we have stereotyped all black men as being dangerous and violent, so when they threaten us in any way at all, we shoot them.

Generalization is a terrible, terrible thing.
