New A-TEAM Series In The Works; Will Feature Female Members
Fox clearly feels there's still some coin to be wrung from The A-Team, so they're putting together a "contemporary take" on the '80s TV series which will feature a team made up of both male and female members. Will the classic characters be revisited? That remains to be seen...
There's a new A-Team TV series in the works at 20th Century Fox with Fast & Furious writer-producer Chris Morgan executive producing alongside the daughter of the original show's creator, TV director Tawnia McKiernan, with Sleepy Hollow executive producer Albert Kim on board as writer. Fox's big screen outing for the motley bunch of mercenaries was not very successful, so they've obviously decided to take the guys back to their TV roots; but whether we'll see original characters Hannibal, B.A., Murdock, and Face is not revealed.
Whether the classic team returns of not, one thing we do know from the following description that accompanies Deadline's report is that there will definitely be some new faces - because the roster will be made up of both male and female characters.
"The new A-Team revolves around a diverse team of American Special Forces operatives. Unlike the original all-male squad, the new team will include both male and female members. The group has been framed for a crime they didn’t commit and set out to clear their names by uncovering the black-ops conspiracy that set them up. Along the way, they are driven to help those in need by using their singular military skills, high-tech expertise and often conflicting individual approaches. It’s described as a fun episodic mission-of-the-week show that mixes big action-adventure sequences with compelling characters, inventive cons and lots of humor."
Do you love the idea of this plan coming together, or should the A-Team be left in the '80s where they belong?
