From what general audiences have seen from the film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood looks like a riot. The film, which is aiming to be a movie event drama-oriented viewers, has yet to dissapoint. With over a month left to go, the Quentin Tarantino-directed period piece has been ramping up its marketing.

Earlier today, Sony dropped a new retro look at the feature, a poster in the vein of classic hand-drawn one-sheets. Encapsulating the tone of the film, the poster is filled with its stacked cast and colorful imagery. This begs the question: Why can't modern posters be like this?

@Forthas - You cut off the best one:

@Forthas - Is Bruce Lee gonna end up killing Manson somehow or another? I just love that in Tarantino's world it is a possibility. He did after all turn Adolf Hitler into swiss cheese by a man called the Bear Jew. F***ing fun storytelling!

@MosquitoFarmer - I think Brad Pitt will do the dirty work!

@L0RDbuckethead - Clearly are a fan...how do you rank the Tarantino films?...I think there are eight that have been released.

@Forthas - Hmm, haven't ranked them in awhile, I'd go:

1. Reservoir Dogs
2. Kill Bill, Vol. 1
3. Pulp Fiction
4. Django Unchained
5. Kill Bill, Vol. 2
6. Jackie Brown
7. Inglorious Basterds
8. The Hateful Eight (appropriately)

They're all pretty good though. Tje only one I really didn't care for was Hateful Eight. I need to watch it again.

@L0RDbuckethead - Jackie Brown is the one film I had trouble getting through. It was OK, but a bit boring.

@L0RDbuckethead - You're forgetting Death Proof in there. Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 is technically one film, but I do myself regard them seperately in analysis. I would have to sit and think about placing them in order as far as my favorites go, but the one query I think about more often is which of his movies has the best ending (literally the final moment(s) of the film; obviously factoring the story that preceded it). I know I will shift my mind on these the more I think about it, but hastily at the moment, and I will add an extra for Kill Bill Vol. 2...

1 - Inglourious Basterds
2 - Death Proof
3 - Kill Bill Vol. 1
4 - Pulp Fiction
5 - Kill Bill Vol. 2
6 - Reservoir Dogs
7 - The Hateful Eight
8 - Django Unchained
9 - Jackie Brown (his most underrated film)

(This is a hard list to put together, cause I can't even make my mind up about about anything but the first and last.)

@Forthas - Great ranking!(I would only switch places on the Kill Bills.
How would you rank his other work? Like writing and small segments in other movies(True Romance, NBK, Four Rooms, From dusk til dawn)

@ElvenKingSlayer - I put Kill Bill 2 over 1 because I loved the end dialogue between the Bride and Bill. It was classic Tarantino!

I can't rank his other efforts because other aspects of the movie would effect it. For example the way lines are delivered influences how I would view how it was written (see what I mean?). Directing is comprehensive enough so that he takes full credit/blame for the work.

@Forthas - I use part of that dialogue to explain to friends(mostly non comic book readers) why Superman is a better character than Batman.

I was a Theater major in college with a concentration in acting. Part-way through I took to writing, and you best believe that Tarantino's work has been a huge inspiration when it came to that regard. Never mind that the cast is great and the movie looks to be filmed fantastically, but I can't wait to see the grander story that Quentin has cooked up. What a phenomenally creative storyteller he is; I just can't wait to see this one!

@MosquitoFarmer - Ok. Would you have given Bruce Willis a bigger role in Pulp Fiction?
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 6/12/2019, 1:15 AM
@DwightKGroot - Nah. His role was what it neeeded to be in the three-story arc Tarantino formulated. Even so, his story was the one I was least interested in, but also one that you can't take away. It gets particularly F-ed up, so it's not too fun to dwell on for too long. but Butch is an awesome character. Plus he even got as petty as to key Vincent's car. That is alogether weak and pathetic, badass, and simply funny as heck.

It does make me a tad sad that a handful of folks neglect Death Proof. :(
I saw Grindhouse three times in theaters.
