Release Date For Wrath Of The Titans Finally Revealed!

Warner Bros have finally set a release date for the sequel to Clash of the Titans which will see the return of Sam Worthington as Perseus and Liam Neeson as Zeus...

Little is known about the sequel right now, although Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) has signed on to direct with cast members Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes all returning to reprise their respective roles.

Despite this lack of info (not surprising as the movie is currently undergoing its tenth rewrite according to star Liam Neeson in a recent interview) we now have a release date set. And that is:

March 30th, 2012

Dan Mazeau and David Johnson are working alongside Green Lantern writer Greg Berlanti on the script, so it'll hopefully be an improvement on the first film, while various reports suggest that Warner Bros intend to shoot the film in 3D this time, after drawing criticism for the poor quality conversion of the first movie. Will you be giving them a second chance by checking out this sequel? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

I didnt hate the first movie...in fact, I thought it was ok. If nothing else, it's worth watching just to count how many times Sam Worthington lets his Aussie accent slip through, lol! However, it's hard to remember all that much about it thanks to the shitty 3D conversion effects completely ruining it! :P

Yeah I heard it was alright but nothing special. I was pissed and didn't see it because they left out the owl and other parts of the story, but then I heard they had an easter egg with the owl so it eases the pain enough for me to give it a watch.

Nice find @Josh

Nice... Really liked the first one...

@Josh - 3D Live action ruins any movie... 3D CGI, now that's pretty cool

leave out the 3D and do a great story involving greek gods and heroes and then I'm sold. I saw first one via Rifftrax, and besides all the riffing the guys did, it wasn't that bad...it could have been more...Hopefully the sequel builds upon the first and makes it better

ugh... Just.. ugh..

This is going to be filed with Ocean's 12 & 13 in my "Remakequels not worth watching" bin.

I love the original. The remake was ok at best. A sequel isn't necessary. :)

the reason why so many major films are coming out that year, is because they might be the last released!

Question:

What is a Titan?
TheAdvocate
TheAdvocate - 12/14/2010, 10:44 PM
@ Fartman

Titans were elder gods that were characterized by their colossal size. That is to say, they were giants that preceded the Olympian gods (Most of which were offspring's of the titans)

" And Gaea ( The earth) established the mountains as their thrones" -D'Aulaire's book of Greek Myths

That should give you an idea of how huge they were. Nevertheless, the usage of Titan in the Movie "Clash of the Titans" has little if anything to do with the actual titans of Greek mythos. Rather the word "Titan" is used to denote the Titanic clash between powers i.e. the gods.

first one was a load of bollocks. should have been called "ass of the shite 'uns"
it was an absolute mess of a film, and almostruined one of the greatest stories of all time.
not sure how there gonna do a second film any justice, but we'll see.

@ Marvelmark

Yea, the original movie was great even though it detoured from the actual story of Perseus to a relatively substantial degree. However, comparing it to Clash of the Titans 2010, it looks like an Award winning movie. The Orig movie had more of a dialog and unintentional comedy along with the clay animation.

I still have a copy of the original on VHS lol

Bubo the owl and R2-D2 would have a lot to talk about I am sure!

Clash was a horrible remake that butchered the memory of a classic but an ok movie if thought of as a completely different entity.

The most disappointing thing about Clash was Ralph Fiennes to me. An actor of that talent and that's the best he could do?! The character was pathetic! I can see what he was trying but it was like he either tried too hard not to be Voldemort or just couldn't be arsed to put any effort into it at all!

i didn't care much for 'clash'. Loved Gemma though :D.
I do think there should be more films or tv shows about greek mythology though. Remember the legendary journeys of hercules? That was [frick]ing awesome!!!!!

seems like 2011 and 2012 are shaping up to be pretty epic as far as movies are concerned. Too bad the world ends in 2012. LOL

I thought clash was a retty good movie but I agree other than the easter egg I missed the owl.

The crap 3D wouldn't have mattered really if the film was any good. It wasn't. Aside from the lousy dialogue, it made no sense. Characters motivations changing in seconds, people doing things for absolutely no reason. It seemed to be edited by an ADHD monkey, and Worthington sucked. Arse.
