Little is known about the sequel right now, although Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) has signed on to direct with cast members Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes all returning to reprise their respective roles.
Despite this lack of info (not surprising as the movie is currently undergoing its tenth rewrite according to star Liam Neeson in a recent interview) we now have a release date set. And that is:
March 30th, 2012
Dan Mazeau and David Johnson are working alongside
Green Lantern writer Greg Berlanti on the script, so it'll hopefully be an improvement on the first film, while various reports suggest that Warner Bros intend to shoot the film in 3D this time, after drawing criticism for the poor quality conversion of the first movie.
