Deadline reveals that a number of directors are being considered by Jerry Bruckheimer and Johnny Depp for Pirates Of The Caribbean 5. The site describes most of these as being "pie in the sky" choices, but three front runners have seemingly emerged in the form of Fredrik Bond (The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman), directing duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) and Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman). Only Sanders' name will likely be familiar to the majority of you, but Rønning and Sandberg are reportedly the names which are most frequently coming up. No offer has been made as of yet however and more meetings are set to go ahead before anything is set in stone. A director WILL be locked in within the next few weeks though, with production set to begin either later this year or early 2014. The last instalment was directed by Rob Marshall and went on to gross over $1 billion worldwide.
