The Russo Brothers have confirmed that production has started on their next movie, The Gray Man. Based on the novel of the same name by Mark Greaney, there's already a huge amount of excitement for this one. Why? Well, it probably helps that the Avengers: Endgame directors have enlisted Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling to play the Netflix adaptation's leads!
The rest of the cast is undeniably impressive, though, with Jessica Henwick, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, and Callan Mulvey among those to have enlisted.
In The Gray Man, Court Gentry (Gosling), a veteran CIA operative, is betrayed by his own agency, forcing him to become a fugitive. Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort of his at the agency, is sent to hunt him down, and if you've read the books, you'll know there's serious franchise potential here.
Netflix is seemingly banking on that, as this is set to be the streamer's most expensive movie to date with a reported budget of $200 million.
The Russos have certainly kept busy since Avengers: Endgame was released, writing and producing a number of titles. The last movie they directed, Cherry, topped streaming charts this weekend after arriving on Apple TV+, so it's no wonder Netflix is going all in on The Gray Man.
Talking of Cherry, Apple TV+ recently released a critics TV spot for the movie, and if you take a look at that in the player below, you may see a familiar website receive a mention...
