With the Power Rangers reboot set to go on floors shortly, the new team of heroes has been training non-stop to get Ranger ready and it's looking like the hard work paid off.

In a few short weeks, Lionsgate's upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot film, which has Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) directing, will kick-off production and it's looking like the new team of Rangers will be more than ready when the time comes. Over the past few months, a couple of the core cast members - Dacre Montgomery (Betrand The Terrible), Becky Gomez (Empire), RJ Cyler (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl), & Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt) - have been posting training updates showing off their impressive progress as well as some of their newfound fighting skills. Keep scrolling to check them out:

On another note, iZombie star and former Power Ranger, Rose McIver (Power Rangers RPM) recently offered some pretty solid advice (via IGN) for the new set of Rangers: "Oh my goodness, that was probably one of the funnest eight month stints of my life. We just laughed our heads off; we had so much fun. I think, make sure you enjoy it. Don’t take yourselves too seriously. You’re fighting monsters in rubber suits. But it’s a blast! It’s so cool and it's so cool to be a part of something that as a child my peers watched and I look now and there are children watching it still. It sort of transcends one particular generation and that’s so fun to be part of, so enjoy every minute.

So they got a good director, the cast is putting in some work, and Liz Banks is going to play Rita Repulsa.

This may be the nostalgia love-fest I need to restore my faith in my childhood icons that Michael Bay has destroyed with TF 2-4.

I am very, very much on board with this.

I really hope Jason David Frank gets a legit cameo, is recognized as the previous White Ranger, and is somehow allowed to "pass along the torch" somehow.

@OptimusPrimeTime -

It'd be cool if he's involved, but it depends how they approach the story. Meaning, if it's a legit reboot and they start anew/fresh, it's likely a cameo to separate itself from the past Rangers, but in a pivotal/important role. Or, he could have a significant role and maybe he trains/mentors the new Rangers to pass the torch.
If it's a legit reboot, I think it'd be interesting to have him play Zordon and be the first Power Ranger. He defeats Rita & traps her in the space dumpster, but sacrifices his life/physical form and becomes an eternal floating/talking head. Over the centuries that follow, with the help of Alpha, Zordon designs/creates the Power Rangers' suits, morphers, Zords, etc. in case Rita ever escapes, since he won't physically be able to stop her himself.

I believe they need to remake/adapt the Green Ranger storyline. It's a great idea since it's arguably the best Power Rangers storyline. It's be a great homage to the original series or it would be a great story for new fans & fans who haven't seen it before. You get the Green Ranger & DragonZord and you get redemption arc with the White Ranger & TigerZord.
One change they could make from the original story, maybe it's not one evil Power Ranger, but two! They could be brother & sister or just a boy & girl, if they want them to be a couple or potential couple. And not only do they both of their own badass Zords, like the Power Rangers' Zords, their Zords can unite to form a MegaZord too!! Their MegaZord could be bigger, similar size or smaller&faster, so long as it's a formidable match to the Rangers' MegaZord.

Just some ideas off the top of the ole head. Feel free to hire me to help write/consult/advise on Rangers' film(s), Lionsgate!

@Scorpo - I did watch them as a kid. My friends loved them and showed me a few episodes. I thought they were shit and the overall show was stupid and everything about it.

@LEVITIKUZ - Somebody who watched it a few times as a kid, and has not watched the since. You can't call it bad until you really watch it.
