Sources tell The Holywood Reporter that Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3) is in talks with Lionsgate to rewrite Catching Fire for new director Francis Lawrence. The sequel is set to start production this summer. The rewrite will have to be a fairly quick one due to the pressure Lionsgate are under as a result of scheduling conflicts caused by Jennifer Lawrence's deal with 20th Century Fox for the X-Men: First Class sequel. The current draft was written by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire). Sound off with your thoughts on this news in the usual place.

Lets hope this one will be watchable. The first one was a terrible movie despite what certain cbm contributors would have you believe.

I enjoyed it. But then I enjoyed the books even more. I thought they did well with it to not turn it into a 3 hour long production.

@theamazinghipsterman yeah hopefully the girl with dragon tattoo has made enough to do the two other books...if not at least we still have the swedish versions which were great.

Those of you saying that Hunger Games was a bad movie, what was wrong with it?

@Warrik I wouldn't even ask you get the juvenile not enough fighting and blood or too much "love story"; which or my favorite it is sh1t b/c it stole the story from Battle Royale. The books are great and the movie was good, I could have done without the rotating camera in the beginning and some of the other camera stuff but all in all it was a very good adaptation of the book taking the best parts and leaving out the superfluous.
