The Avengers: Infinity War trailer - which you can find an in-depth look at by clicking here - kicks off with the Guardians of the Galaxy coming across Thor as he floats through space. Most of us have assumed that means Asgard is destroyed at the end of Thor: Ragnarok or that the hero is left stranded after being defeated by Hela and/or Thanos but director Taika Waititi has now claimed otherwise.

When io9 caught up with the filmmaker at Comic-Con last weekend, they asked him about that scene possibly spoiling the ending of Thor: Ragnarok and he replied "No, actually. No," in what they describe as a surprised tone which was followed by a laugh. So, what exactly does that mean for the Asgardian?

We now don't know but there are a variety of different possibilities. Thanos could attack Asgard early on in Avengers: Infinity War and Thor's meeting with the Guardians could be from the midway point. It's also feasible that this is an excerpt from Thor: Ragnarok's after-credits scenes and the answer of how the hero got there will remain a mystery. What do you guys think?
